I will say before viewing this link...I have NEVER seen a murder accused do any good by taking the stand to testify... but I have seen a few who seem to make matters worse.
In this case IMO: Dunn should NOT take the stand

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The defense in the Michael Dunn trial is expected to call two witnesses Tuesday. Experts say one of them could be Michael Dunn.
Dunn is facing murder charges in the November 2012 death of 17-year-old Jordan Davis.
First Coast News Legal Analyst Richard Kuritz has been on both sides of court -- defense and prosecution. He said Dunn taking the stand comes with positives and negatives.
First, Kurtiz said the jury needs to get to know Dunn a little more before they go into deliberations.
"Based on the facts of this unique case, I think they want to hear from him, I think they need to hear from him, for him to say I was truly in fear," said Kuritz.
He said putting Dunn on the stand doesn't come without risk.
"He's a citizen," he said. "He's going to be going up against trained prosecutors that were trained to trip him up."
The jury hasn't heard phone calls Dunn made from prison, or letters he wrote. Kuritz said the prosecution can use those to show what Dunn said on the stand isn't the way he felt in prison.
"That's going to be tough for the defense and great for the prosecution if that happens," he said.
