Hello,
I've been lurking around for a while and enjoying reading the wonderful discussions, and I'm going to try to take part now and then.
Just a few things I noticed about the "I left my job over a computer-desktop hoodie" story:
1) Which "image of a hoodie"? She talks about "This image had sprung up on the Internet", but doesn't describe which one and some are quite aggressive in character.
2) I doubt that the Zimmerman family can afford much time to reflect on the "dreams and goals and loving parents" of TM, since those parents have contributed to and continue to demand the complete destruction of George and his family. (Not very loving, IMHO.)
3) I would be surprised if the woman didn't file some kind of discrimination complaint against her boss and co-workers. I also expect she thinks her article will leverage another job for her.
4) It took her a year and a half to decide to "do something"? Give us all a break. Where was she all that time, Mars?
First of all:

We're so glad to have you posting with us!
Second:

Thanks for distracting Rumpole so my

posts were overlooked. Shhhh...

(And I'm not noticing those blown margins, either.)

Finally: Excellent comments, thanks! She doesn't specify which hoodie photo. In fact, to my reading (and if IIRC), she tries to allude to it being just the garment, with no one in it. However, if I had to bet, I'd bet it was the lightened, air-brushed/photoshopped, photo of TM™ in a white or very light gray hoodie. A lot of people use that one as an avatar, and it's fairly common around the interwebs.
Pro-tip: You really don't want to get me started on the Trayparents™

but I'll say this much: I agree with what your wrote, and your words were much kinder to them than mine.
Yes, the look-at-me just drips from her writing. She may very well expect to become and world renowned racial pundit through her efforts!

As for Mars, you may be onto something. I've often wondered where the Trayborg™ originated... Mars would explain
a lot.
