I dunno, there is testimony regarding multiple shots. One shot might have come from the grassy knoll; Zimmerman just a patsy.

I think the odds would have been much greater for George to be president. Trayvon...not so much.

Reminder: We can't just quote a tweet without our comment getting incorporated in the quoted comment. Please paraphrase and/or delete the tweet, as I did in the next post below; or separate the tweet and the comment you're quoting like above; or delete the person and comment you're quoting leaving only the tweet. I still think the reason Surdyka heard three shots is because her head is hollow and it created the echos :46

Iran Blasts Zimmerman’s Acquittal in US

Iran deplored the recent court verdict acquitting US security guard George Zimmerman who killed unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin as a blatant example of racial discrimination.

So let me get this straight...35 years ago Obama was a thug? 35 years ago Obama would have had no problem beating a White Hispanic's head in for looking at him the wrong way? Obama smoked pot...OK, that's a given. Obama was looking to illegally purchase a weapon? Obama's white mother threw him out of the house? Obama took naked pictures of underage girls? Obama carried around a burglary tool and an assortment of jewelry? Obama vandalized school property? Obama swung on a bus driver? Obama was a truant? Obama was suspended from school 3 times in less than 5 months?

Why would Obama think Trayvon is someone black men should honor?

liesel...he played right into the perpetually aggrieved hands. What if TM had stood his ground, had been white, the plight of the poor black man...the same old following in a store, lady in elevator, locking car doors, etc... Did he mention if this is so, why do people have have this perception/fear of black men? Did he tell black men they should'nt use violence to solve their problems? Did he mention the statistics show crime is committed by a disproportionate number of black men? Or did he mention this case was not about RACE! Did he mention Chicago and most inner cities that are out of control with black on black crime? If he wants to have a talk about race, he should be addressing the issues in black community. Did he ask the black community to understand how the white community feels?

Did he mention the Zimmermans have been subject to death treats, their lives have been devastated and yet, they have remained dignified as well. All he left out was George should have let Trayvon beat him to death and everyone would have been happy.

BTW When I was a teen, I was stopped in a store, accused of shoplifting, brought into store office and had my purse and pockets searched. It may happen to black teens more often, but it happens to white kids too. As parents we've had "the talk" with our kids too. If you're are stopped by police, be respectful, don't wonder into neighborhoods where you may encounter problems, when you leave our house, you represent our family and our values, act according.

Somebody please send him Trayvon's file....he can't be that much in the dark.

Yes, he played into Trayborg™ hands, but I don't think it was unwitting. I think he knew what he was doing and it's deliberate to get support for larger agenda items, like gun control. There is no way any rational person, or anyone with even just a few working brain cells, could disagree with the well stated point you made about O inciting instead of healing. He's the perfect person to use this incident to try to heal the nation and positively affect race relations, but he chose to exacerbate the situation for his own political ends. He is the perfect person to provide real help and guidance to black youth, all other youth, and the black community. He could have used this case as a springboard for a real conversation about race and how to really improve the lives of real people of all races, but particularly the poor black communities. He chose not to, again, for his own political reasons.

Make no mistake - O is not in the dark about any aspect of this case. I suspect he and his advisors have had very long strategy sessions on how to best use this tragedy for political ends.

God bless you and those like you for trying to raise your children (not leaving it to schools or others), and for trying to raise them right. We've had similar talks with ours. Something else we've learned along the way that we've added to those talks is that the manners you use in public should be used with your family. Why would you treat strangers better than those who love you?

The political manoeuvres are of course independent of the people involved....

To paraphrase "Tom Hagen" in the Godfather:

"It's business (politics) not personal."

It does not matter WHO TM is, nor who GZ is really.....

However, down at the real and personal level the masses are STILL viewing the case in the context of the FALSE NARRATIVE.. started by Julison/Crump.

Put simply: An innocent, small child on his way home with candy and a drink, gunned down by a racist white, black hater.

IMPRINTING is irreversible in many... but for some at least, this false narrative needs to be exposed.

A good start (perhaps sufficient in itself) is to publicise the truth about who Trayvon was. The Trayparents say they want that... so it's a golden opportunity for every news network to do a little bit of research.. and air a story.

I would hope some investigative reporter would do it. Surely the info is not that hard to find? A bunch of us already know where it is. :95

The Trayparents are getting so much love and understanding by everyone who interviews them. It's been a year and a half since Traythug got himself killed. Now it's as if it happened yesterday. Throw some hard questions at them. Ask Tracy where he was all day until 11 pm. Why he thought Traythug had been arrested. Why he didn't look for him all night.

Ask Traymom why she would think everyone would look at Traythug as their son. GMAB

No time to catch up at the moment, just wanted to pass this along:

Zimmerman Defense Comments on President Obama’s Remarks

on 19 July 2013.

We have listened to President Obama’s comments about the verdict in the Zimmerman Case. People are focusing on this quote: “Trayvon Martin could’ve been me 35 years ago.” To focus on this one line misses the nuances of the President’s message, which includes comments about how African Americans view the Zimmerman Case in the context of the history of racial disparity in America.

For more than a year, we have been listening to the conversation about this case -- from voices on every side -- and we have become very sensitive to the racial context that surrounds this case. We acknowledge Mr. Obama’s remarks regarding the frustration felt by some when viewed in context of our nation’s history, which includes racial insensitivities spanning generations, and existing even today, including within our criminal justice system.

While we acknowledge and understand the racial context of this case, we challenge people to look closely and dispassionately at the facts. We believe those who look at the facts of the case without prejudice will see that it is a clear case of self-defense, and we are certain that those who take a closer look at the kind of person George Zimmerman is -- something we understand the Department of Justice is currently doing -- we are confident they will find a young man with with a diverse ethnic and racial background who is not a racist, a man who is, in fact, sensitive to the complex racial history of our country.

It takes courage to talk about race. It took courage for our President to address the Zimmerman Case and candidly discuss how and why people are upset by the verdict. We would like to stress that the verdict was reached fairly and justly and that it reflects the letter of the law and represents the law’s proper application to the facts. While we acknowledge the racial context of the case, we hope that the President was not suggesting that this case fits a pattern of racial disparity, because we strongly contend that it does not.

This case has given the nation an opportunity to have a candid conversation about race. We would like to contribute to this discourse. Our President has clearly indicated he is willing to contribute to the discourse. As we begin this conversation, we want to say this: we cannot talk about race in sound bites. Before you cast an opinion about what the President said, be sure to listen to his comments in full. Before you judge George Zimmerman or disparage the verdict of the citizen jury, understand the facts in full. Agree not to listen to just what meets your predisposition, but to accept what exists.

Only in this way can we assure that the conversations we want to have, that we need to have, will be attended and listened to by those whose presence is necessary for a full discourse -- a discourse that can have positive consequences for our growth as a nation.
