We have here, what is called "Castle Law"...which basically says, a mans/womans home, property, car and place of business IS his/her castle, and we can defend it with deadly force, if needed.

This law maybe going away, and back to only being able to protect yourself if someone enters your abode.

I, unfortunately, had to exercise this right, on September 21, 2012. Did I kill someone, absolutely not, but I would have. (if Rumpole will allow, I will explain in detail.)

It pains me to know that, because people REFUSE to educate themselves, and realize that there is ALOT more to this case than just what the media shows. The refusal of education as to make the proper assessments which could affect a multitude of people, is sickening.

Sure... It would be great to hear a real-life account of such an event.

My wife found this not sure I believe it.

Sounds great..... too good to be true?

I'll await confirmation before starting a thread: George Zimmerman V Martin/Fulton "Family"

I haven't read ahead to see if Rumpole commented, but I'd like to read the details. Sounds horrific, having to shoot like that. How about a RT blog post? That way you'd have plenty of room to explain it all, what happened, how you felt about it, the reaction(s) of others, etc. etc., and we could all comment without derailing this thread (like I did earlier). Please be careful with details that my enable Trayborg™ to dox you. Maybe change things up a bit, especially details that won't change the story much.

Ok, looks like Rumpole had the same idea - so it must be a good one! :)

Think of that site as being like the onion, only with less humor and far less credibility.

The other day they had a story about Chuck Norris assaulting Ted Nugent by cutting off one of his fingers.

I give them credit for lively imaginations, but that's about it.

gummybear, I was so distracted by your personal experience, I forgot to mention that I think you have VERY little to worry about as far as the Castle Doctrine, especially in Texas. The left is trying to salvage a gun win out of this case, but GZ being vindicated, I mean acquitted ;) really slows them down. Also consider the left wasn't even able to get a gun bill through the senate. There are a lot more 2nd amendment supports than there are leftists who are terrified of guns. Even people who don't particularly care for firearms have supported the issue because of their stance on the erosion of our liberties; think libertarians. :)

According to my local state representative (also Texas) said there's far too much support for the Castle Doctrine as it's currently written on both sides of the aisle so chances are slim it will be challenged/changed. Last Florida reviewed their law and no changes were recommended.

Yeah, gummybear, what LondoJowo wrote. :)

Florida's "Stand Your Ground" laws were reviewed last year because of the left's demands in response to the GZ case. Nothing was changed or designated as requiring further review.

Many on the left sincerely feel citizens should not have guns, and they blame guns for gun deaths, rather than the people wielding the guns. They will use anything they think will help them accomplish that goal and they thought this case would spark enough public outcry that maybe they'd get at least some restrictions. I remind you again, the senate was not able to pass a bill during the pendency of this case. At this point, I'm not concerned about it.

Hi, bugkiller! :) Thanks for bringing the link. I think it's a bit soon for GZ to have made that kind of decision yet. I don't expect him to do much of anything right away, kwim? But if it's true, no doubt other media outlets will be reporting it soon and... wow!

I started a separate thread for anything related to Ben Kruidbos... the Whistle Blower sacked by Corey.

I think there may well a Civil Suit? Regardless, it could well be a separate pipe in this sewer.

Well If I Had JUST would have stayed at home!!!

Took my 4 yr old grandson to the community pool yesterday... Have been so wrapped up with the GZ case, I decided I needed to spend time with my baby.
Had a wonderful day til about 5 pm. My bad leg twisted and steped on step back and then and I WENT SPLISHING AND SPLASHING!! FUNNY as hell hindsight, but whew... well cant put weight on right leg, waiting for the dr to call back with MRI referral, praying I don't have a torn ACL. Oh and had my phone in hand.. got to get new phone. Keep me in your prayers.. ROFL... IF I HAD JUST STAYED IN MY CAR~~ Then when I got home found out we had a Police Officer justified shooting in our capital city, that people were chanting Trayvon. I didn't get all the details, but I saw where LA was being torn up. Shaking my head

:Gslap Thanks, Chip. I guess non-pigeons is out of the question too, then. ;)

As for the former, I was looking for something more indicative of animal, rather than civilized. I mean, a jogger was beaten "for Trayvon" and it's becoming a regular thing for groups of 4-6 teens to literally beat someone to death. In addition there's the rioting and looting, property damage and other uncivilized, violent behaviors.

I think their group name should be "WeAreTrayvon," since their actions are similar to Trayvon's mindset according to his posts & tweets.

Nothing on google news. If a lawsuit was filed in Seminole County it would be available to reporters. Someone would have tipped them off about something like this.

I don't think it's for real MBTB.

We can all dream though... so I left the link.

DOJ solicits email tips in Zimmerman civil rights probe

http://touch.orlandosentinel.com/#secti ... -76680163/

Arnwine said the call was convened at about 3:30 p.m. by Tom Perez, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice, and included representatives from the FBI, and several federal prosecutors, she said. DOJ officials also said they would open a public email address so people could send in tips on the case.

That email address, which is now in operation, is Sanford.florida@usdoj.gov.

I so want to send an email, but it won't be to prosecute George. I can think of several choice word for this "witch hunt".

It was literally all they had. They had no facts, no evidence, no logical inferences, no law. If any one of them had a conscience or any respect for legal ethics, they'd have dropped the charges, or refused to be any part of the case when it was clear there was nothing there.

I hear you, lliesel. These charges were based on zero evidence and they knew it from the get go. And supposedly the FBI investigated originally and said there was no racism involved. If that's true they why another investigation. ugh.

Any tip from me would not be what they want. Maybe a tip about Holder and his stupid take on the Stand your ground law.

More of our tax dollars are going to go to the employee that is designated to sort through all of those e-mails and weed out the bullshit. (oops ! can I say that here ?)...I AM positive, if anyone who saw anything that night, or even had a frogs hair idea that Zimmerman was racist, they would have screamed it from the roof tops by now. Didn't he take a black girl to his/her prom ? or something like that ?
