I just had an interesting visit by a very good friend of mine, who is a former attorney, current forensic investigator and former client. We got on the subject of the Zimmerman/Trayvon trial, the outcome, and how it is going to affect us here in Texas.
We have here, what is called "Castle Law"...which basically says, a mans/womans home, property, car and place of business IS his/her castle, and we can defend it with deadly force, if needed.
This law maybe going away, and back to only being able to protect yourself if someone enters your abode.
I, unfortunately, had to exercise this right, on September 21, 2012. Did I kill someone, absolutely not, but I would have. (if Rumpole will allow, I will explain in detail.)
It pains me to know that, because people REFUSE to educate themselves, and realize that there is ALOT more to this case than just what the media shows. The refusal of education as to make the proper assessments which could affect a multitude of people, is sickening.
I have the right to bear arms...I will continue to bear my arms...and I will protect what is mine to any extent. (Did I mention I have an 8 year old ?)...yea...
I haven't read ahead to see if Rumpole commented, but I'd like to read the details. Sounds horrific, having to shoot like that. How about a
RT blog post? That way you'd have plenty of room to explain it all, what happened, how you felt about it, the reaction(s) of others, etc. etc., and we could all comment without derailing this thread (like I did earlier). Please be careful with details that my enable Trayborg™ to dox you. Maybe change things up a bit, especially details that won't change the story much.
