Debate arguments on MORE witnesses.... (2 hours each)

Schiff show first... he has ended, but "reserved" his last 15 minutes.
It looks like he intends to come back and rebut what Trump team says????
I do not remember rebuttal time being agreed to???
I hope they knock that on the head. Schiff having last word will leave his bullshit as the final word.

-----------------------------------------
The "15 minute break" has been going on for 45 minutes... something is up??

Back... defense starts at about 3:45 pm... so expect 2 hours to end at 5:45?
Defense only took about 25 minutes.....

-----------------
Schiff back to rebut :wall

And the chief justice says he has 30 minutes!!! :wall

------------
It propbably wont happen, but.....
I would like Trumps guys to get up after Schiff.. even if it is just a short last word... pointing out the Schiff is fullashit

No more from Trump side... I guess they vote now?

-----------------
I know NOBODY is ever held to account, but....
Schiff and the Fake Impeachment gang need to be tried and sent to prison now,
Naddler Schiffand Pelosi are all psychos... need to be in a loony bin

---------------
They briefly started a roll call.. but stopped after one name? Since then they have all been standing around, milling about... doing fuck all??? :wall

It's no wonder nothing gets done in Senate and House.... I imagine they do a lot of standing around simply not doing anything. :roll

---------------------------
FINALLY they are back doing a vote.... Turtle and Cryin' chuck have "come to an agreement"
They will do vote and then have ANOTHER recess (subject to recall)... so who know what they will do rest of tonight and going into next week???
-----------------
Mittens and Collins voted aye... so looks like it will be 51 - 49 for NO

NO WITNESSES
Cryin' Chuck has already announced that "An acquittal will have no value"

---------------------
Apparently the delay is to decide procedure from here. It was said that next would be closing arguements fro each side (4 hours each) and then a VOTE requiring 2/3 to convict, but....
Senators likely want to "have a say" (debate) to voice their opinions/reasons etc. (justify their vote to their electorate) and so this circus will drag on past today. Looks like past State of The Union etc.
It really is nuts that Republicans continue to let themselves be PLAYED by Democrats. The DIMS are not going to accept whatever happens... Orange Man is still bad.. and what ever happens in this "trial" he is GUILTY.

----------------------
It will be good to get Trump acquitted, but that was never really in doubt, whatever happened in this "Trial" it was just a stunt to "dirty Trump up", and it has, at least as far as DIM voters go.
Cryin' Chuck has already announced that "An acquittal will have no value"
Even if they had more witnesses the DIM base would not accept the verdict.. so what is the point?
The original outline was, after "no extra witnesses" vote to have the closing arguments from each side, then a vote on the actual Impeachment. All suposed to be finished tonight, no matter how long it took. To clear the way for Trump before Stae of The Union. But now..... the Senators apparently want time to opine and justify themselves to their electorate voters??
IMHO the Republicans are again letting themselves be PLAYED by the DIMS

Marie Yovanovitch, the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, has announced her retirement from the State Department.

She was suddenly removed from her post in May 2019 and was previously a key witness in the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump.

The plan.....

There will be 24 hours of presentation by House Impeachment Managers (over 3 days); 24 hours of presentation by Defense team (over 3 days); 16 hours of Senate questioning; 4 hours of closing arguments, equally divided; open Senate deliberations/speeches; and a final vote on the articles of impeachment.

The Senate Trial continues tonight (Starting now). The next step will be a vote tonight on a procedural resolution (open to amendments) setting out the process. Likely:

Monday: Closing arguments by House Managers and Defense.
Tuesday: Open deliberations. Senators speak.
Wednesday: A final vote on the articles of impeachment (at 4pm)

I hear Cryin' Already has "amendment" to Call specified witnesses... Bolton etc ... AGAIN!!! :wall

Robert’s declines to serve as tie-breaker.

Cryin' Chuck made a "parliamentary inquiry" asking Chief Justice John Roberts' to be a tie breaker if needed. Roberts says "NO"
That is a sliver of good news. The last thing we need is Roberts assisting in this farce. :roll

We just got a 51 - 49 vote. I heard Mittens and Collins break ranks on a couple of witnesses, one being Bolton.

We can all see that Schiff CREATES a narrative... based on LIES

He does not even attempt to lay out facts, and anylise what they might mean. He simply creates a "work of fiction". He even invents dialog... versions of what people say (and think) and just keeps repeating it as if he is then actually quoting what people say. He repeats it so often that others grow to believe it is true, and parrot it back.
EG Sondland relating what tump said.....
Quote:
“I want nothing. I want nothing. I want no quid pro quo,” the president told a U.S. diplomat in the September phone call. Questions were swirling by then about Trump’s motivations for holding up U.S. security assistance for Ukraine as he pressed the country’s leaders to investigate his political rivals.

“Tell Zelenskiy - President Zelenskiy to do the right thing,” Trump added in his conversation with his ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland.

Schiff kept "quoting" that as "Trump demanded that Zelensky had to "go to the mic". Even Trumps legal team repeated the phrase... which is some sort of "movie gangster" phrase created in Schiffs mind. I might add that NOBODY has fully highlighted the fact that "hearsay" is NOT the same as an actual quote. In the example Sholkin is "remembering" that Trump said "no quid pro quo" but that is obviously the "phrase of the moment" being argued when Sondland gave his evidence. Those may well NOT have been Trump's exact words. Trump could have simply said "I am not asking for anything"... which Sondland remembered or at least relayed in his testimony as "No Quid Pro Quo"

As an aside...
What Schiff does in CREATING a fantasy narrative based on speculation is actually the SAME process at least, as is used by online commentators/bloggers. One hopes their motives are nowhere near as corrupt as Schiff... but they are also subject to being inaccurate (wrong) in their analysis

Graham: Impeachment ends when Trump is re-elected and Pelosi, Tlaib are fired
Feb 2, 2020
Fox News

There you go again, Senator Linda.... You sometimes (rarely) "talk the talk"......... but NOTHING ever comes of it.

I would not be surprised if these Senate hearings NEVER HAPPEN... but even if they do... People (like Schiff) will have excuses as to why they can not testify about some matters (at least) and even if they do testify, they will AVOID some questions and even LIE!! Nothing happens when people Lie to Congress (Senate).

WE DO NOT NEED ANY MORE HEARINGS!!

Hearings result in "REPORTS" or "Calls for more hearings"... they are a JOKE!!

We already have "probable cause" to INDICT MANY CROOKS.... lets get that done and if needed proceed with some REAL CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS by DoJ/FBI... We don't NEED more half-assed hearings in Congress/Senate (and maybe a referral to DoJ that gets ignored)

Maria Bartiromo interviewed Miss Lynnsey this weekend and asked him if anything is going to be done to make the lying scheming dimms
answer to all of their illegal fakery. He swears there is - they'll be an investigation! Miss Maria looked extremely skeptical.

I think all we'll see, if anything, is another dog and pony show like all of the other republican "investigations" that end up with no one culpable and no one charged.

Listening to Joe Manchin....
(Undecided about his vote... but convinced Trump did WRONG and needs to be censured, even if not found guilty)

He is just plain WRONG in what he states... STUPID in so far as he believes lies and misses facts.

EG He parrots Schiff's lies that Trump asked Ukraine to interfere in US 2020 election? That was never stated anywhere by anybody.. it is just Schiff Schitt!!
Manchin described Ukraine as a "NATO ALLY".... that is nonsense. Ukraine is NOT a NATO member, and is not even an "ally" It has been said to be a "strategic partner"... but not defined as an ally. I would expect a US Senator to at least be informed about basics?

The next daft Senate woman… repeating nonsense about Russia helping Trump and hurting Hillary in 2016? Repeating the LIE that Russia “hacked DNC’ and released emails to help Trump. The fact that the DNC emails were actually REAL EMAILS.. this was information about the DNC that voters needed to know BEFORE voting for a crooked outfit like the DNC. These people simply can NOT be “de-programed”

It is actually scary to see proof that such stupid, uninformed, biased people are “SENATORS”… to some extent in charge of the Nation… scary stuff!!

The Senate Chamber looks mostly EMPTY!! This is a pointless farce.
There are long pauses… I presume they are struggling to find people who want to pontificate.
They could have done the closing Arguments on Saturday. (Preferably preventing Schiff and the gang from reciting stuff “not in evidence” (lies). But even if Schiff did his routine… they could have moved to final vote on Saturday… or at the very worse case… they could have voted TODAY!!

Isn't it just way cool how the CIA accepts corrupt leakers
into the fold after they are exposed?

I wonder if they get a warm blankie, a pacifier, and a safe place
to hide from prosecution by the the evil, mean conservatives.

Ted Cruz and then Sen. Kennedy did good as well…..

David Perdue is OK as well…

We seem to be in a Republican patch… I guess the DIMS are too embarrassed to speak?
Next Steve Daines (R-Montana) also anti-Impeachment

Mike Rounds (R- South Dakota)… also anti-impeachment

Oh noes... a daft DIM snuck in....
Jeanne Shaheen DIM from New Hampshire

CLEARLY… DIMS have not even thought through what they are asking for.
To remove any President.. especially a popular one like Trump.. would result in civil war.
