The Detroit police Chief broke the rules of the current narrative. He was supposed to say the twelve people shot were attacked by flags, it’s the flags’ fault, it has to be the flags…. The professional activists are very angry at the police chief now.



DETROIT, MI Detroit Police Chief James Craig agitated activists by calling those involved in shooting a dozen people Saturday, one who died, “urban terrorists.”

"We want to make it very much known that the young people who are causing the violence in our community are not terrorists,” said the Rev. Charles Williams, president of the Detroit National Action Network, a civil rights group founded by the Rev. Al Sharpton. “They are not urban terrorists, they are the products of bad urban policy.

“They are products of bad education policy, where our young people are used as products, versus being educated. They are products of the fact that you are dealing with a city with high poverty numbers, so to relate these young people as terrorists is wrong.”

The Detroit police chief addressed media from the basketball court where upwards of 400 people gathered Saturday for a community party and cookout before gunshots rang out.

Pools of dried blood were visible along the perimeter of the basketball court. “Rude Boyz,” someone wrote with spray paint on one of the basketball backboards. “Dexter” said the other.

Feds warns of potential July 4 attacks targeting law enforcement

The FBI and Department of Homeland Security issued a bulletin Friday warning of potential attacks against law enforcement officers and the military during the July 4th holiday, CBS News has learned.

The bulletin is not related to Friday's attacks in France, Tunisia and Kuwait.

However, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson says his department is encouraging law enforcement "to be vigilant and prepared" ahead of the holiday in the U.S. following those three attacks.

Johnson says people should attend Independence Day events as planned but "remain vigilant" and report any suspicious activity.

He says U.S. authorities will adjust security measures, including those unseen by the public, as necessary.

A gunman killed at least 37 people and wounded 36 in an attack on a beach resort in Tunisia Friday. In Kuwait, a suicide bomber killed at least 25 people, while a man with suspected ties to French Islamic radicals rammed a car into a gas factory in southeastern France, triggering an explosion that injured two people. The severed head of a local businessman was left hanging at the factory's entrance.

Another Historically Black Church in South Carolina Burning

Yet another black church in the South was in flames Tuesday night, this time historic Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal in Williamsburg County, South Carolina — 20 years after it was burned to the ground by Ku Klux Klan members.

Carter Jones, special projects coordinator for the South Carolina Firefighters' Association, said crews from multiple jurisdictions were responding to the "heavy" fire at the church in Greeleyville.

Williamsburg County Fire Chief Randy Swinton told NBC News it wasn't known whether the fire was intentionally set, noting that a lightning storm passed through the area about the same time the blaze was reported.

No injuries were immediately reported, but The Kingstree News of Williamsburg County reported that the church was "gutted."

'Disarm the Police' protesters set fire to flags as part of demonstration stunt - and need to be saved by the NYPD when a group of angry bikers show up

Anti-NYPD group Disarm the Police staged a flag-burning protest on Wednesday night for what they claimed was a stand against the Charleston church massacre - but the activists had to be rescued by none other than New York's finest.

The scene at Fort Greene Park in Brooklyn descended into madness when the fiery stunt was crashed by a group of bikers opposing the flags being burned.

Disarm the Police had announced on their Facebook page that they planned to light up both American and Confederate flags - saying they both 'symbols of oppression' - with over 350 people responding as attending.

However 40 members of the Hallowed Sons Motorcycle Club turned up at the scene about 8 pm to make sure no more flags were burned.

I was just about to post a story about it on ABCNews but their video is only 30 seconds.

You have it covered. Isn't this the most ridiculous thing for kids to do? I hope they find all of them.

It's not funny, but after Chris & I watched the video 10 times.

. There are more friggin' kids running in when the other's are running out.

Police: Large crowd at Fountain Square unruly, officers make multiple arrests

CINCINNATI – Police made multiple arrests Saturday night as a large crowd gathered at Fountain Square became unruly.

Numerous officers were sent to the scene after 11 p.m. One officer was struck with a bottle, according to District 1 police.

12-Year-Old Arrested in Connection With a Deadly Omaha Shooting, Police Say

A 12-year-old suspect was arrested Tuesday night in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in connection with a deadly shooting in Omaha, Nebraska, officials told ABC News today.

The boy will be charged with first-degree murder alongside 15-year-old Shuntayvious Primes-Willis and 17-year-old Jamar E. Milton, police said.

The Douglas County Attorney's office initially said all three suspects would be charged as adults, but Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine later said that the 12-year-old would be charged in juvenile court.

A Nebraska statute that went into effect on Jan. 1 states that suspects under 14 must be tried in juvenile court.

The three suspects allegedly got Jamymell Ray, 31, to meet them at the northeast corner of Miller Park in North Omaha for a marijuana deal on June 29, Kleine told ABC affiliate KETV.

"All three suspects had guns. There were shell casings from two different types of guns at the scene," Kleine told KETV.

The three juveniles allegedly attempted a robbery during the drug deal and shot Ray at close range, police said. Ray died from his injures at Nebraska Medical Center, police said.

James Comey Says FBI Disrupted Plans To Kill Americans Likely Over July 4th Holiday

WASHINGTON -- The FBI arrested more than 10 people over the past four to six weeks in an effort that Director James Comey said disrupted plans to kill people on American soil, likely in connection with the July 4th holiday.

Comey told reporters at FBI headquarters on Thursday that all of the people arrested were connected in some way to the Islamic State. But not all of them were necessarily charged with terrorism-related offenses, he said. Comey declined to provide further details or give out specific names or locations of potential attacks.

Top drug lord Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman uses mile-long tunnel to escape Mexican prison again

MEXICO CITY - Top drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman has done what Mexican authorities promised would not happen again after his re-capture last year — escaped for a second time from a maximum security prison.

A manhunt began immediately for the head of the powerful Sinaloa Cartel, which is believed to control most of the major crossing points for drugs at the U.S. border with Mexico.

Associated Press journalists near the Altiplano prison, 90 kilometers (56 miles) west of Mexico City, said the roads were being heavily patrolled by Federal Police, who had also set up checkpoints. Flights were also suspended at Toluca airport near the penitentiary in the state of Mexico.

Guzman was last seen about 9 p.m. Saturday in the shower area of the Altiplano prison, according to a statement from the National Security Commission issued early Sunday. After a time, he was lost by the prison’s security camera surveillance network. Upon checking his cell, authorities found it empty.

Mexico’s top security official says top drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman has escaped through a 1-mile tunnel that opened into the shower area of his cell.

Security Commissioner Monte Alejandro Rubido tells a news conference Sunday that Guzman used an elaborate escape hatch built allegedly without the detection of authorities.

With his escape Guzman has done what Mexican authorities promised would not happen after his recapture last year — to slip out of a maximum security prison for the second time.

Rubido says 18 employees from various part of the Altiplano prison 56 miles west of Mexico City have been taken in for questioning.

Pennsylvania Officer, Father of 2, Dies After Fall From Fence During Police Pursuit

A Pennsylvania police officer died after suffering a head injury in a fall while trying to capture three teenage robbery suspects.

Scranton police said 29-year-old Patrolman John Wilding died early Sunday morning.

Police chief Carl Graziano said Wilding and other officers were called to investigate an armed robbery at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday in West Scranton. Graziano said a witness reported seeing Wilding jump a fence during the chase and fall down a 15-foot drop.

Three 17-year-old suspects are in custody. All face charges including robbery.

Wilding's sister, Patrice, a staff writer for The (Scranton) Times-Tribune, asked for privacy. She said Wilding was married with two children, ages 3 and 7.

Two Dead, Three Injured in 'Ambush' on Police After 911 Call

Police officers allegedly responded to a call about a medical situation when they were "ambushed by an armed assailant with a shotgun"

Three people were injured, including two police officers, and two men are dead following a shootout in suburban River Forest early Sunday morning.

River Forest police officers and fire officials responded to a call at a residence on Lathrop Avenue near Madison Street around 7:20 a.m. about a woman suffering from shortness of breath, according to Deputy Chief Jim O'Shea. When the officers arrived at the home, they were "ambushed by an armed assailant with a shotgun," O'Shea said.

Gunfire was exchanged between the police officers and the alleged offender, who has been identified as a 24-year-old man.

The offender was killed in the shootout, and two police officers received non-life-threatening injuries, according to O'Shea. One was a 15-year veteran with the department, who was shot while wearing a bullet-proof vest. The other was a 5-year veteran. The nature of his injuries is unclear.

Two other victims were inside the house. One of them identified as a 60-year-old man was killed in the incident. The other — a 59-year-old woman who was identified as the mother of the offender — was injured, O'Shea said. She underwent surgery for her injuries Sunday.

Dan Flannery, a witness who lives on the same block as the incident, told NBC Chicago he heard more than 20 or 30 shots fired.
Police Fatally Shoot Man on Chicago's South Side

Flannery said he saw an officer on the ground outside a house holding his side. The officer fired shots into the house, and shots were returned to the officer. A body was then wheeled out of the home, Flannery said.

Son of Boston police captain allegedly involved in terror plot

DEVELOPING: The son of a Boston police captain was an ISIS supporter who planned to set off an improvised explosive device and was arrested after illegally purchasing four firearms on July 4, according to a Justice Department press release and MyFoxBoston.

Authorities say 23-year-old Alexander Ciccolo, who also went by the name Ali Al Amriki and posted about martyrdom on Facebook, spoke about setting off an explosive device “in places where large numbers of people congregate, such as college cafeterias.” He was seen purchasing a pressure cooker similar to the kind used by the perpetrators of the Boston Marathon bombing.

Ciccolo’s father reported his son to the FBI after noticing suspicious behavior, according to MyFoxBoston.

"According to a close acquaintance, the defendant had a long history of mental illness and in the last 18 months had become obsessed with Islam," the Justice Department’s detention memo stated.

The Ciccolo family released a statement Monday thanking authorities for preventing any casualties and asking the public for privacy.

After his arrest, authorities allege Ciccolo stabbed a nurse in the head with a pen during a medical exam, “leaving a bloody hole in the nurse’s skin and causing the pen to break in half.”

The case was sealed until Monday, though the Department wouldn’t comment on why.

Ciccolo is scheduled for a detention hearing on Tuesday and is behind held in custody until then.

St. Louis authorities hunt for gunman who ‘tried to assassinate’ cop

Authorities in St. Louis are hunting for a gunman Tuesday who they say shot a police officer in what is believed to be an ambush attack.

The injured police officer -- identified as a 39-year-old sergeant with 16 years on the force -- was sitting inside his personal car in uniform when the shooting occurred. The officer's car was riddled with bullets and he was hit in the torso. He was saved by his ballistic vest, Fox2Now.com reported.

"They tried to assassinate a police officer," Sam Dotson, the city's police chief, told The St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Police in the city are searching for four African-American males in a gray Ford Taurus, the report said. One of the men may be injured.

The police officer was working his second job as a security guard. Police said he never got out of his car and had no interaction with the men.

The Post-Dispatch reported that the Taurus pulled up in front of the sergeant's car at about 5 a.m. Tuesday and one of the assailants rushed out of the car wearing a black bandana on his face and opened fire.
