It seems that everyone covered this song. How serendipitous is finding this?

Robert Plant - "Song to the Siren"

Tim Buckley - "Song to the Siren"

Thanks Rumpole Fleetwood Mac, sweet. Joy Division is new for me and I like them.

Beautiful song by Robert Plant PPk, I had never heard of Tim Buckley, very pretty music and neat that he was Jeff’s dad.

And one of my favorite boys Elvis Costello Allison

You are worse that me!

I "discover" some group to get my music tastes up to date... and it turns out I am 10 years late still... Joy division was early 80's... 30+ years ago.

So was Costello BTW..... but he has at least continued to add and is still performing as far as I know? I went through a big EC period... found and bought every album on CD... EC stuff hard to find on YT... lots blocked by copyright claims.... that just happens with some artists.. and zealous management I guess.

I have a few that survive on YT :cool

I just did the Deep Purple Family tree episode...

The Album "Deep Purple in Rock" was a standard at parties back in the day... I liked them well enough,,, bought the 45 of "Black Night".... very impressed with that song and the 45 was the FIRST I came across that was STEREO... and stereo tended to be overdone in those days... to show off the effect. As an aside many songs on YT sound better in original (or remastered) MONO... easy to get the Stereo channel balance wrong.. or lose a bit such that a song sounds better in MONO (IMO) But The stereo effect in itself was a bit of a buzz back in the day... eg The Guitar back and forth on Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love.. as well as the Stereo "Black Night" were good examples. Of course the done thing was to "blow your mind" while listening to these songs LOUD on headphones (being stoned optional) :)

Deep Purple-Black Night (Original Single Version)

Nice classic rock Rumpole :)

I like finding old music that is new to me.

Right now it is a Nick Cave moment.
