In fact, listening to him speaking right now, I don't think he speaks fast at all!

Well, one good thing has come out of the proceedings - Roux doesn't take so many breaks as Nel does.

Having one just now, Nel would already have had three LoL

I suspect that Nel is a smoker... takes one to know one... any excuse for a break and a quick puff

:smoke haha I think you're right, as an ex-smoker, I remember when I went to Australia in 2005 my biggest fear was how was I going to manage between Glasgow and Dubai (long enough) and inside the terminal building, without a cig, then a15 hour flight next day without a cig. I wish the authorites would realize actually if you are a smoker, it is a form of torture.

I gave on 15th March 2013 so I'm over a year now, and a lot fatter (which I didn't need already) but I remember the days your talking about very well indeed. I used to smoke in my car because unless my drive was anything under 40 mins I couldn't go without a cig - it was like second nature to me. At the end I smoked nearly 80 a day, and I knew I had to stop, I ended up most days between 60 and 80 it had been years since I was 40 a day person.

I used will power, nothing else and I'm glad I did, but I'm eating up a storm and I know I shouldnt.

I have to go down stairs now, so I hope to pick up the rest of the trial on my Tablet which has excellent sound and vision. :smoke :51

FWIW.. I believe him.

But that is not absolutely critical.... I think he is at the VERY least believable enough such that there is NO WAY the State can disprove his version (beyond reasonable doubt)

Nel needs to give up on that tack.... IMO

If Nel does a nasty, petulant, snarky cross on OP as appears to be Nel's new style... I think he will just make himself look like more of a jerk than he already looks.

For some reason I had to come back upstairs, as I can't log in from my Tablet - I'll look into it because I should be able to.

Well for some time now I have been saying that I thought Reeva was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. I think he thought she was still lying in bed and, as can be the case with couples, one gets up for some reason and unbekown to the other, he or she, in the interim gets up to go to the toilet. I've not changed my opinion of that scenario, and nothing I've heard today has changed my opinion or perception either.

I still think she got up, whilst he was already up, and went to the loo - end of my opinion where that goes.

i think in SA much was made of this case because of who Pistorius is or, who he had become - famous. If it was an ordinary guy in the street, i doubt much more would have come of it, and also a proven corrupt cop being involved from the outset too.

i think it has been nothing more than a tragic accident. But I now think in the interests of justice and court time, the judge may have to intervene because even although the testimony of Oscar is hard on him, he has to get through it, and if this is proving difficult with his own Defense team - can you just imagine, what Nel is going to throw at him and how!!

There should be a point in the proceedings where perhaps the judge (as is her right and duty) calls all the lawyers into her Chambers in an effort to bring things to a conclusion.

The next few days, are going to be interesting. We are into a whole new ball game, if in the interests of OP's mental condition as it is now, may even be brought into question for the remainder of the trial - don't even go there, let's hope the Judge has discussions with the two sets of lawyers.

Good thought, Wroughead.

Like in a boxing match where the Ref stops the fight. I think it could be time for the Judge to stop the trial.

If you accept (more or less) what OP described yesterday... ALL the nonsense presented so far is a waste of time. Who heard what when and what they thought it was, is irrelevant. Ballistics, and door analysis and ME not needed, blood spatter not needed, photographer not needed... we get the picture.... Reeva was shot...dead... exact wound order etc matters not. It doesn't even matter that the Keystone Kops trampled all over the scene, stealing watches as they went. The Firearms charges were always just a blatant ploy to introduce inadmissible evidence. The Judge should dismiss them for that reason alone.

What does remain is a debate/discussion on exactly what SA law is relevant, and how it should be applied in this case specifically.

What penalty should be imposed... if any... and IMO a big dollop of compassion granted to OP

Some of those photos of O. in the Court Room remind me of some ancient Witch Trials. So spooky looking aren't they?
Dark - spot light on the accused? GADS.

Does anyone know the usual time the trail goes off ... in PST - the west coast? We are 3 hours behind EST.
Thanks if you can help. I have no computer to watch it in my room, only here in the living room at my desk. DARN.

When does it normally *END* - not start. lol :60 :fish I am not out here at this computer at 12:30 AM. Too tired.
Thanks. :heart

Why didn't you say so, Joni :neener

The home time bell seems to ring at 3:30PM their time. They operate the sort of short days I had at school. (6 hour day, including tea-breaks and an hour for lunch) :eek

So if they actually work a "full day" they would end at 6:30AM your time Joni.

But they rarely go full term...

Hope you manage to get some viewing of the trial Joni, I know it's early for you, but as Rumpy says, they sometimes just don't go a full court day, there's no telling with them.

i think there will be those who may now begin to question (including the Judge) OP's mental state right now and, the strain of having to go over it all again in a court room filled with people, and as I've said, he's not really under pressure right now as the questions are coming from his own defense team.

I hope his family and friends, and the lady who is looking after his emotional state, who usually sits beside his sister every day in court, can get him over this between now and when he appears on the stand again, because these things and events have to be relayed, and he is the only person who can do so.

I have long since forgotten about those witnesses who have stated on oath that they heard the 'woman' in a terrified state, they have exaggerated their evidence in my opinion to fit what they've since heard happened - and that even includes the first couple of weeks after Reeva's death.

Let's hope the court time runs to schedule Wednesday.

Thanks!!

Joni. :give

I do post links to YT videos of the entire day, each day.

You could watch a "delayed telecast" at whatever time suits you. You could cut out the lunch and tea breaks.. and so only need 4 hours or so.

Just get up normal time and get yourself organised... garb some popcorn and a nice hot cup of tea and watch the reruns.

Thanks for that. Yeaaa! I keep forgetting ALL the great stuff here.
That should be enough!!
If that one school teacher was "too pretty" to go to jail, Oscar is "too handsome and too helpless" to go to jail I think.

Joni, I think the guy is suffering, and I don't think he's putting on an act - his family go over to him when they see he's upset, specifically his sister, they are very close, so i think as long as he has their support he'll be fine.

WH I believe so too... Oscar seems to be suffering more than any I have ever seen. I did hear many moved from that area because of the relentless break-ins, and moved to where Rump lives.
