Our reporter Lucy Thornton, who is in Pretoria, says a white door frame has been erected inside the court room ahead of this morning's proceedings.

It's thought it will be used by an expert witness to demonstrate key aspects of the prosecution's case, including Pistorius' location when the shots were fired.

A scale model of the toilet cubicle in the athlete's home has also been built.

Roux is currently standing in front of the door sharing a joke with his team.

Earlier he arrived and told the Daily Mirror he was feeling "excellent."

Oscar has walked down the dock to take a closer look at the door too.

It has been erected in front of where Reeva's family and friends normally sit.

Oscar is also studying the door as he stands next to his advocate Barry Roux.

Pistorius and Barry Roux have been whispering behind the door that's been set up, as those in court room debate whether it is the door from the Blade Runner's apartment.

It has now been confirmed it is the door with four bullet holes in it. It has four holes through it and is partially broken.

Three bullet holes are said to be positioned diagonally beneath the door handle, on the right of the frame. Another shot is below, to the right of the handle.

It is 1:1 scale model of the toilet cubicle that has been set up in court. There is a white toilet inside with a push button flush on the top.

It does appear a confined space. It is 1.4 by 1.14 metres in size.

There are four bullet marks and splits in the wood where it has been reassembled.

Mr Fresco is asked if he has had any contact with Pistorius' ex, Samantha Taylor, since Reeva's shooting.

He said he had not seen her until she appeared in the witness box last week.

He says he chatted to her while she was dating Oscar, but not after they broke up.

Barry Roux says he has not further questions for Mr Fresco.

He is now being re-examined by prosecutor Gerrie Nel.

He is asking Mr Fresco about the events leading up to the sunroof incident.

He says Pistorius had the gun between his legs as they drove back from the Vaal.

He adds Pistorius did not tell him to slow down when he hit 260kph.

The day's proceedings are about to begin, with Pistorius' friend Darren Fresco back in the witness box.

He appeared quite stressed when he arrived in court this morning, putting his hand in front of a camera lens.

Fresco says he is a network engineer. He appears not to have had a shave today and is rather sulky in the box.

Talking about the incident in the restaurant, Mr Fresco is asked if Pistorius was angry after the gun went off. Fresco insisted: "At no time ever was he upset...or cross with me."

Fresco says he had taken the blame because his friend Pistorius had asked him to.

Roux now back on his feet to ask "two things" and wants to show him a photo.

Darrin caught in a blatant lie.

He just testified to photo showing speedo when OP drining (260km/hr) but it is photo darin took of his own speeding. Roux took him to task for fabricating evidence!!

Roux says it must have been Mr Fresco driving, and the witness agrees, but says he can't remember taking the picture.

The next witness is lieutenant-colonel Gerhard Vermeulen of the police forensic science laboratory at the South African Police Service.

He visited the scene 2 weeks after the incident

Col Vermeulen says he has 29 years experience and has completed 1,400 forensic examinations.
He attended the scene of the shooting on March 8 2013.
He was asked to look at the door and the cricket bat to determine if there were any marks on the door which could relate to it.
The court is shown a picture of a damaged steel plate in the main bathroom, next to a small silver pedal bin.


Col Vermeulen's says his task was to work out what caused the steel plate to bend.
He says the damage to the plate was caused by an object hitting or falling on it, and causing scratch.

The court is now been shown a picture of the bathroom door with a narrow hole in it.

Col Vermeulen says the marks are consistent with hitting the door or bashing the door with a cricket bat.

The bat made a physical match with the marks, which is "indisputable" confirmation the bat was used to bash the door, the witness says.
