NZ lose another wicket... Anderson given out lbw (leg before wicket)... decided by umpire.. usually preety good at judging it. On this occasion... decision is wrong.. and shown by TV replay.. but Umpires word is final. ( you win some you lose some)

so.....

NZ 394/5 (after 102 overs)

McCullum still batting 175* (off 251 balls) (* signifies "not out)

The curse of cricket... players going off early because of bad light. It is often an on again off again thing for an hour or more.

They may now be finished for the day... but we have to wait an hour before declaring the day is done.

As things stand

India 130/4

Since I am " Live on the scene" in Auckland at least....Match weather report

It is early... 6:30AM so start is more than 4 hours away, but it is steady light drizzle... and was raining overnight... so I predict NOT starting on time... if at all today. :(

If the second innings side do so poorly that they do not get within 200 of the other teams opening score... they CAN be asked to "follow on"... bat their next innings, rather than NZ having a second innings (yet)... if they continue to be so hopeless, NZ may bowl them out a second time.... before they match NZ's 503 even after 2 innings total.
Or... perhaps manage just a little more than 503... NZ still get their second innings at the end to better any difference.

Last two gone

Sharma - caught - duck (0) off 3 balls

Shami - caught - 2 off 3 balls

Indian innings over (for 10 wickets in 60.0 overs) 202 runs.

India trail by 301 runs.

NZ is NOT enforcing the follow on. They will bat now... buid on the 301 lead... then "declare" once they think they have a big enough lead.

That does give India the chance to better the score with their second innings.... but NZ will set a large target.
