What does "ticking over" mean?

No new development...that's what bothers me the most. It was never primarily about the criminal case for me and I think the main point was completely missed by all of the media. The main problem in this whole thing for me was how so many white people were willing to sell out someone to black people's demands. Lee, Wolfinger, Triplett, Scott, Bondi, Corey. It doesn't matter if George were found guilty or not, nothing has changed even with him being found not guilty. The Scheme Team; Fulton, Martin, Crump et al., Jackson still operate with impunity. The Florida Bar will do nothing to stop Crump and Jackson, no one will ever challenge Fulton and Martin. And even if all those people lost power and justice were actually done here there's still a ton to do. The SPD needs to be investigated. There needs to be a new chief put in place who won't cower to unreasonable demands. I don't know about that new state's attorney but he needs to know not to cower or he'll be put out of office. That's what needs to happen in all police departments and prosecutors offices. Then it has to widen out to the state's school systems and up to the DOJ/CRD and even the POTUS. A fundamental shift needs to occur in society where this kind of crap gets no play. Non-blacks and Whites especially need to start standing up for themselves and stop letting this crap happen and letting their children be beaten to death on buses. That's the kind of development I'd like to see. If people haven't learned that from the George Zimmerman case they never will learn it until it directly affects them.

"Ticking over" means... engine running... just idling... at traffic light ready to drag race the Traybots in the old VW van in the next lane!!!

In the case of Random Topics I would like some posters to stick around, stay in the habit of visiting and posting... so the place stays alive.

I KNOW you and I.... and Me and CTH.... come to the GZ case from different directions..... I have posted to that effect here and at CTH.

I come from "True Crime" forums... a sort of inner city slum of more expansive considerations... Truth, liberty, politics, BGI etc.

However... for this case there is an overlap in some aspects of the GZ case.. and so a great basis for the relationship. I might well have got to CTH blog on some political matter... but if not for GZ case I would never have lingered... returned and even posted.

I agree that is desirable.... but how do you "see" it will happen?

We witnessed just how far they'd go to produce the 'show trial' of George.

We saw Corey call George a "murderer" post-verdict:

There's no indication at this time they'll not also add the 'Shellie Zimmerman Trial' act to their show.

So twisted, so wrong, and so upsetting to see these children being raised like that.

I think I read somewhere that is the first of TEN covers Ebony magizine will have on the "We Are Trayvon" campaign.

This has turned into one great big pity party. Poor us...everyone else is to blame...we take no responsibility for our actions...

Not one magazine (that I know of), has put George or his family on the cover and exposed this travesty for what it is. Not one celebrity (again, not that I know of), has come forward to express support for George or his family. They must be out there, just not brave enough, or willing to risk their careers to stand up for what's right?

Is it me, or does it sound like Obama is hinting Trayvon could have done something wrong? I almost thought he was going to address the real issues, but not so fast, he hints at it being normal teenage behavior and followed by excuses, excuses, excuses. Then lays the blame on the judicial system, and laws that encourage violent encounters like what happened with Zimmerman/Martin. Newsflash, self defense laws do not encourage violent encounters, they protect innocent citizens from death or bodily harm from violent encounters. The system worked fairly, stop insinuating it didn't, stop the lies if you want to have a serious discussion of the issues.
No conversation here, just another pity party...he skips right over the family when looking for causes, one of the main reasons for the disjunction in the black community. Actually, I would say it goes for all communities, but in a overwhelming percentage in the black community.

I am waiting for that, too. Will it be postponed until after Ben Kruibos (sp) gets further into his lawsuit? The two go hand-in-hand, IMO.

Probably not news to you, but O'Mara recently spoke of adding much more to be covered in the sanction hearing, something about reviewing the entire case to determine what else may be added. That remark left me thinking it would be quite some time before anything happens.

Considering the pace of civil lawsuits, I hope not!

Save Our Sons? Really? Maybe the moms and dads need to take rsponsibilty for what they spawned and do their job as other parents do. Teach them morals, seek an education, postpone sex, give them curfews, don't expect handouts and a free ride.
