If people start to easily find where I have moved stuff... I will have get more sneaky! :stamp

:lol

Obviously there are more and more "overlaps".. the GZ case(and related possible trials, law suits etc) is mixed with BGI and things political. I am TRYING to separate politics etc from GZ related stuff... it's a dirty job but somebody has to do it :)

Both valid lines of discussion.. I just want to try and keep them separate.

Bill O'Reilly goes after Sharpton, BGI and what needs to be done in the black community. The only thing I disagree with is his opening lines. He said George profiled Trayvon and he gave credit to Tray-parents for...I don't know what...wrong on those points IMO. Other than that he really is going after the race baiters. Too bad he doesn't see Tray-parents are now part of the BGI along with Crump and crew.

Read Ann Coulter's article this week, O'Reilly: Killing History, it's pretty good.

I am sure I referenced this story before.... but worth repeating ;)

George Zimmerman's Brother: Civil Lawsuit 'Might Not Be Very Flattering' To Trayvon Martin's Family
David.Lohr
Posted: 07/26/2013 2:19 pm EDT

Quote:
If Trayvon Martin's family decides to file a wrongful-death suit against George Zimmerman, they could be opening a Pandora's box, according to Zimmerman's older brother.

"A myriad of things that were off-limits in a criminal trial would come into play in a civil case. Specifically, things that might not be very flattering to Trayvon or his family,"

Robert Zimmerman Jr. said in an email to The Huffington Post.
[...]
"Public opinion was swayed by a false presentation of this case from the beginning," Zimmerman's lawyer Mark O'Mara said at a press conference after the ruling. "The Martin family, through their handlers, presented a picture of who Trayvon was and who George was that is wholly inaccurate."

After the verdict, the Martin family's lawyer, Benjamin Crump, told ABC's "This Week" that his clients were considering a suit against Zimmerman.

"They are going to certainly look at [a lawsuit] as an option. They deeply want a sense of justice. They deeply don't want their son's death to be in vain,"

he told ABC.

George Zimmerman, seen here on the 20th day of his trial for second-degree murder in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, was acquitted on all charges. (Joe Burbank / EPA)

I never thought the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case deserved nearly the attention it got. But reasonable people can disagree about that. What strikes me as unconscionable, however, is the way the supposedly objective media have not only sensationalized a tragedy but at times appear to deliberately bend the facts to fit a desired story line. Maybe it started with the use of pictures of a younger Martin or with the sudden embrace of the term "white Hispanic" to describe Zimmerman in order to more easily paint him as a racist.

NBC News was the most egregious offender on this score. Producers edited Zimmerman's 911 call to make it sound as if he were targeting Martin because of his race. The "Today" show ran audio of Zimmerman saying, "This guy looks like he's up to no good … he looks black." Those ellipses hide the fact Zimmerman said "he looks black" only after the operator asked him to describe Martin. (NBC has apologized, and Zimmerman is suing.)

Any hope that the editorializing would end with the trial was naive. National Public Radio recently profiled Sybrina Fulton, Martin's mother. In response to the tragedy and the trial, Fulton has become a civil rights activist, NPR reported....

Hiya, flgirl543! :)

I think the fact of it (not necessarily that particular version) was posted in the daft thread (cos it's so denigrating to what used to be a respected institution), but you know my view: Always better to post so others don't miss it; not all read back, etc. Thanks! :)

They can use the hoodie to remind them in the future how they were kept on the plantation by the likes of JJ and bobble head Al so that the trashcans would keep full of money.

One day black people will look back and say, "wow were we stupid, those scum bags played us".

Agreed, mung, JJ and Al (may he be prosecuted fully and soon) Sharpton have played a lot of people. BTW - both your and this post will likely be moved to the political snippets thread as soon as Rumpole logs in, which is more appropriate for this topic. I'm not doing it now to wait to see if more comments are added that should also be moved. ;)

This is from July 19th, but I found it interesting:

Ten Post-Zimmerman Lessons

Some are uplifting, some downright depressing. But for what they are worth, here are my ten top takeaways from a crazy week:

    1. Sometimes, even in these cynical times, a jury gets it right.

Here in the era of O.J. and the $3 million hot coffee civil suit, it is easy to grow jaded about the failings of our human jury system.

But on rare occasions, under the harsh glare and pressure of public scrutiny, jurors will gather and surround themselves with just the right shields against emotion and irrelevant sideshows.

The Zimmerman jury had to know that an acquittal could well lead to violent reactions. They also had to know they would join the defendant in the crosshairs of vulgar, unhinged critics.

Yet they examined the evidence, ruled on its merits and gave us an inspiring example of our judicial system working properly.

VH1 presents the “Do Something Awards” to honor “young world-changers, 25 and under.” This year, the nominees included someone who organized a multi-state program to provide food to soup kitchens and shelters, a “DREAMer” illegal alien, a young woman speaking out against human trafficking, and another young woman who helps find funding for schools, water wells, and health centers in East Africa.

Oh and there’s also Daniel Maree, the anti-Stand Your Ground activist behind the Million Hoodies Movement for Justice.

Guess who won.
