But maybe, just maybe, this time the BS is gonna have some consequences, if not blow up in their faces. I think it's already hurting the BGI - did you see O'Reilly's talking points memo posted yesterday?
Like many, I've generally been very pro-prosecution throughout my life. I want criminals off the streets. I assumed the prosecutors had the same goal. This case has widely opened my eyes and iirc yours, and many others.
People are still calling for consequences for Corey; maybe something will happen. At the very least there is now a plethora of info about her all over the web. If this case doesn't bring her and her minions down, maybe the next one will. I fully expect Nelson to deny the motion for sanctions, because clearly the defense wasn't irreparably harmed; their client was acquitted. I also expect MOM to appeal her decision and hope the DCA will do something about the state's actions.
I hope Nelson gets a strong dressing down too, aka a "How Stupid Can You Be" opinion from the DCA. If GZ wasn't so very clearly innocent and if there wasn't such an overwhelming amount of evidence proving him innocent, he could have easily been convicted due to the state's actions. How many others were and will be? I think the DCA will care about that.
We've got plenty of reasons to be frustrated and disgusted, even embarrassed about the actions taken in our name, but for a change, a welcome, refreshing, change, a lot of people are paying attention, and there
may be some consequences. You know, if I knew someone convicted by anyone on that prosecution team, I'd be going over their case with a fine-tooth comb right now.

I agree with everything you said. I am retired from a lifetime of working in LE, for police departments and sheriff's departments. From my personal experiences, police actions have been lawful, professional, and conscientious. Therefore, whenever anyone was arrested by any LE agency I believed there had to be credible evidence that a crime had been committed which placed me firmly on the side of the prosecution in any criminal case. Thus, the Zimmerman case has literally pulled the rug out from under me. I now have to change my way of doing things. No more will I blindly accept a prosecutor's assertions. But that's not the only thing that's changed. No more will I believe we live in a nation of laws. Not when the DOJ itself is involved in corruption and persecution of private citizens.
