Exactly right on all counts! Lucky boy (now man) to have a dad that cares enough to teach and guide him. Three scholarship students and counting, here. (Thanks for the opening to brag!) So, apparently, paying attention to one's children, and raising them yourself (instead of expecting others to raise them, like schools), tends to have better outcomes, based on your and our anecdotal evidence.
Those that come out against things destroying poor and black communities are vilified by the media and others. Bill Cosby, much beloved by members of all races, came out and tried to make statements to help; how much have you heard from him since? I think we were all better off when America was a melting pot, instead of so many separate groups that try to stake out totally different characteristics so that each group is different, sometimes vastly so, from each other.
