So I just took the time to call up the Florida bar.

The Florida Bar
Director of Lawyer Regulation
651 East Jefferson Street
Tallahassee, FL 32399-2300
(800) 342-8060
(850) 561-5600 (in-state)
Fax: (850) 561-5665
Website: http://www.floridabar.org

They referred me to the Florida ethics committee (850-488-7864) to deal with Corey and Bondi as they are elected officials.
I used the 800 number as I am out of state. I was instructed to go to the website to file a complaint. This is done by searching for the "complaint form" in the search bar on http://www.floridabar.org
Each attorney (BDLR, Guy, Beaker) should have a individual complaint filed detailing the unethical or unprofessional conduct displayed in the GZ case.

I finally figured out where to start :52 When I was speaking with the person there she said that her computer was running slow and I replied "Probably because so many people are calling in about this case!" and as funny as it sounds she agreed! :slap

Sell it to Scheme Team for the very high sentimental value, maybe throw in a confidentiality agreement. :lol

Way to stick with it and get it done, guywitharod. I hope something comes from your ethics complaint. I wish Dershowitz would also file one, in addition to publicly calling for an investigation.

Liesel,

I spent quite a while at LI yesterday, and read that article. It sickened me. Al Sharpton is all about violence, and uses his race to get what he wants, when he wants it, right down to corporations paying his way in life. It seems to be okay for the organizations of "color" to murder innocent white/jewish people, ruin the lives of whites, and be as corrupt as the day is long...but don't let someone outside of the "colored" race "stand his ground" and defend himself against violence, because then it becomes a civil rights issue. What about our rights against scum bags like Al Sharpton et al ?

You're preaching to the choir on that one. In our PC world, PC extortionists can do whatever they like to whomever they like, and it seems like most are too afraid to stand up to them. SMH

You know, it wouldn't surprise me for some idiot to pay a lot more than the value of the piece for that reason. There is a whole crime memorabilia market too.

PS to gummybear - I read LI a lot. A couple of blogs you may like and that have covered the GZ case off an on are The Other McCain and Ace of Spades. They cover a wide variety of things, a lot of politics.

Another fave of mine focuses on 1st amendment violations primarily, but also some other things, with a heavy legal/law focus, Popehat. (Chip, I think you'll get addicted to Popehat, so visit with caution. ;) )

Finally, Patterico is another blog that has covered the GZ case. Patterico is an LA prosecutor.

I just received a phone call from one of my clients. Downtown, in the city I live in, are a group of African-Americans rallying/protesting the Zimmerman trial outcome. Mind you, I live in a city, in West Central Texas, with only 100,000 people and 85% of them are Hispanic. Um...I think I'm staying home today.

Stay safe.

You know, most of those protesting have very, very little idea what happened. They don't see past color. I found a really good comment at TalkLeft:

Seriously -- do they not understand the laws they want to put into effect to punish GZ will affect them and those they care about? Do they really believe legalizing assault will not affect them or anyone they care about? SMH

I just had an interesting visit by a very good friend of mine, who is a former attorney, current forensic investigator and former client. We got on the subject of the Zimmerman/Trayvon trial, the outcome, and how it is going to affect us here in Texas.

We have here, what is called "Castle Law"...which basically says, a mans/womans home, property, car and place of business IS his/her castle, and we can defend it with deadly force, if needed.

This law maybe going away, and back to only being able to protect yourself if someone enters your abode.

I, unfortunately, had to exercise this right, on September 21, 2012. Did I kill someone, absolutely not, but I would have. (if Rumpole will allow, I will explain in detail.)

It pains me to know that, because people REFUSE to educate themselves, and realize that there is ALOT more to this case than just what the media shows. The refusal of education as to make the proper assessments which could affect a multitude of people, is sickening.

I have the right to bear arms...I will continue to bear my arms...and I will protect what is mine to any extent. (Did I mention I have an 8 year old ?)...yea...

According to my local state representative (also Texas) said there's far too much support for the Castle Doctrine as it's currently written on both sides of the aisle so chances are slim it will be challenged/changed. Last Florida reviewed their law and no changes were recommended.

Thanks for that Londo !..

Rep. Dewey says that if the abolition comes from a federal level, it "may" affect the Stand Your Ground/Castle Laws in all states. But, as you well know, Texas likes to do their own thing...So, lets keep our fingers crossed.

It was mid-afternoon when I received the phone call. Would I be interested in participating on a panel discussing the Zimmerman case and self-defense law in general, to be hosted on KPCC, the Los Angeles are National Public Radio station? Meh, why not, I told them. And there I was, on hold with my iPhone waiting to “go live,” and thinking: boy, didn’t they see ANY of my tweets? Why would NPR want me on the air?
