I spent the whole day away from the case, the waiting is so stressful. I was hoping to come here tonight and see good news. This is not what I expected.

It is mentioned a bit in each of the charges but isn't fully explained until after the two charges. Reasonable doubt, etc. is explained after that. At least in the one Kathi Belich has up.

And I'd have looked it up if needed. Lucky for me, it wasn't. :)

So they might just be going in order of the jury instruction and haven't gotten to self defense yet. Seems odd to me but I do remember Not Guilty was the last one listed.

Thanks, I needed that. :83

We don't know anything yet. Could mean anything, at this point. But be careful -- Rumpole has his fish out. ;)

The jury seems to be leaning towards a compromise, not realizing manslaughter really isn't.

As to Hornsby's post on twitter. Of course it would be a question on the second part. After all we all know TM is dead which is the first part. "Duh" :98

I think the confusion stems from the fact

Bernie has no case
Image

The jury simply are not considering that simple fact.

The State did not present ANY theory of what happened, therefore GZ's presumption of innocence has not even been challenged.. there is NOTHING to decide?

I think these jury instructions are bass ackword. Reasonable doubt, Burden of Proof, etc. one would think should be first, then self defense, then 2nd degree Murder, then Manslaughter.

At the very least I would expect Reasonable doubt, Burden of Proof, etc. to be first.
