Wasn't able to watch this morning. Could someone please give me an idea how O'Mara did and was there any suprises? I would appreciate any feedback.

I liked the cardboard cut outs of GZ and TM. It showed how much bigger TM was than GZ. Very nice.

Thanks, SheStone and Londo, for clearing up the tear/itch exaggeration. :)

I usually can't stand defense attorneys too. But in this case, I think I'm in love with O'Mara!! But West is a close second.

I like super smart guys - that makes them very, very attractive to me. :)

Seems logical, but the majority of criminal trials end in a guilty verdict, something like 95% or more in federal cases. That said, the longer the verdict takes, the more difficulty they are likely having with a guilty verdict ...good for the defense. But there are exceptions to every rule of thumb.

My understanding is the exact opposite. It's a much harder decision to take someone's freedom away than to acquit them. The longer the jury takes, the more likely they are to convict. Also, if you think about it, those that are predicting an acquittal are also predicting a short deliberation and vice-versa.

taurus, your best bet is to go back about ten pages or so to get the full flavor of the morning. MOM did a great job, imo, but not perfect, of course. Guy lied, was very emotional, lied, and he also lied. But I hear some find him attractive?

We now know, well, maybe, could be, perhaps, Trayvon didn't go home because he didn't want to bring the scary man home to his little 12 yr old whoever.

Darn, I'm now left with more questions. Didn't they have locks on the doors? What about phones? Didn't he know how to dial 911? And my big question, so where did he run? Was he running around in circles like a dog chasing his tail? Yes, Mr, Guy, common sense...

I love West too and find him attractive. He reminds me of James Carville and doing it Cajun style. I love him too. He is very smart and outspoken.

Of course I love MoM too and find him attractive.

I can't remember now... Did MOM mention TM™ didn't call 911? That's a great point and I hope he didn't overlook by working without his notes.

I've never met West but my understanding is he's about the opposite of Carville in temperament. For example, last night on Greta, Diana Tennis said she didn't recognize his courtroom behavior lately. She's known him for 20 years and he's the most "Zen" guy she knows. That's always been my impression too - very calm guy, but when moved to passion... look out.

So, I'm sitting here with WFTV on and they're showing a photo of the courthouse, but no sound. As sometimes happens shortly before they come on, I heard Warmoth say something along the lines of, "Greg's mike check, blah blah" and then... :Gslap :Gslap
Scheaffer says, "...and I'm not befuddled and if he says it again..." then the sound was gone.
:lol :lol

I don't think MoM mentioned the position of the gun and TM going after it either.

Edit to fix broken quote - liesel

Taurus - this will catch you up:

Zimmerman Defense Gives Evidence-Rich Closing, State Appeals to “Heart”

This morning saw the defense give its closing statement in Florida v. Zimmerman, the last opportunity for them to deliver their compelling narrative of innocence to the jury. And boy, did Mark O’Mara deliver. In a closing rich with evidence, facts, and the law, O’Mara focused the jury on their legal obligation to deliver a verdict consistent with the State’s burden to prove Zimmerman’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

O’Mara stepped them through every significant piece of evidence, and every single witness that had appeared in court. He reminded them of their duty to come to a verdict using only the evidence actually presented at trial, and that any “filling in the gaps” must be seen as contributing towards reasonable doubt, and therefore towards a not guilty verdict. He urged them to do the opposite of what the State had suggested in BDLR’s fact-free closing, when the State seemed to suggest that the jury not be overly concerned with the evidence but rather apply their “common sense.”

I don't recall him mentioning TM™ going after it but I do remember him making a point that the gun was not pushed into TM™'s chest.

Nelson finally dropped "Twitters", in favor of merely referring to "Tweets", in her jury questions.
