I wondered why they could not accomplish that another way. On a somewhat related issue, I also wonder how long the trial would have been if all the pre-trial issues had been taken care of ...well ...PRE-trial?

The only way it goes back with the jury is if it's admitted as evidence, as far as I know.

Oh yes, I hope someone goes back and counts up how many hours/days the jurors were sequestered due to pre-trial matters.
