Bernie claims he didn't know this witness would testify regarding the war and screams? Didn't he get his depo from the defense?

Yes, my understanding is the honorable vet did sit for depo but at that time had purposefully avoided listening to and identifying screams. It was just too painful for him and brought back war memories. He testified that he didn't listen until this past Saturday and didn't notify the defense until last Saturday during what MOM described as a very emotional telephone call. The honorable vet agree with MOM's description of the call notifying the defense of the honorable vet's voice ID as emotional.

Lawyer on Fox (didn't catch his name) thinks defense will raise immunity after they rest their case.

My opinion since early on has been this is a show trial. The probable cause was lacking and the politics dictated the show must go on. A hung jury makes it appear the facts evidently showed a trial was necessary, so all that pushed for a trial were correct in doing so ...state wins.

I agree with you almost 100%. The small difference is that a case like this can make or break a career. They want a win. Will they settle for a hung jury? Again, their higher ups may not allow a retrial but then again, especially if there are riots, maybe they will.

One thing I have learned for sure - do not underestimate BDLR's or Corey's arrogance, vindictiveness, pettiness, spitefulness, and very thin skins.

Not to make it an 'I'm right, you're wrong' debate but, if the state were to win a conviction, we're all 110% certain the DCA will tear the trial and those involved apart uncovering many problems the prosecution created.

That result would not "make ...a career".

I have a vision of Mr. Donnelly saying to Bernie, "Sir, I 've been bullied by experts in Vietnam. You ain't even in the running for top 20 bully cut".
Another note. JVM is down to Florida a day and already has the fake tan.

So what are the bets that Judge Nelson will strike John Donnelly's testimony when they come back? Just like she did when Serino testified that he felt GZ was being truthful in his statements.

You're more than 110% right about that but that's on the judge. To be clear, I don't think it's certain or even most likely that the state would retry; just possible.

You think that will work with Nelson?

Holly Bristow (sp) on FOX is a Traybot. She says of course defense will put on all these witnesses who appear likable. They can't put Shellie on because she has a perjury charge against her, and she's not credible. Then she proceeds to talk about George's violent past. Of course, state can put on as many of Trayvon's friends to imply he was a great kid, but that would put up his "supposed" bad acts (paraphrase). Her bias shows through with everything she says.

I don't see how it can't -- state has to prove the violation and the only people who would know, the defense and the witness, have already said it didn't happen. If Nelson finds for the state it would not stand, imo. There is simply zero evidence to support it.

If she does, imo, it triggers Streisand Effect. Again. Will help the defense more than hurt, just like Serino. But I don't think she will. I think the only reason this is going forward is the petty vindictiveness of the state.

Also think about this: Liars think everyone lies; cheaters think everyone cheats; etc. BDLR jumping on this clearly non-violation to me is almost as good as a confession about his own activities.

Oooooh... I just had a thought... (yes, really!)...

In rebuttal the state may bring a parade of witnesses to say it was TM™ screaming. Seems to me that may open the door for the defense to play a recording of TM™ for comparison, such as the homeless guys fighting over a bicycle audio. Then jury would hear TM™'s voice and could make their own determination.

Yeah, Rene, or it could just be the defense witnesses are telling the truth so didn't need much preparation.
