I agree with Stutzman, he's making a fool of himself; hurting his own credibility with jurors, hopefully.

Bao is shooting eye daggers at the defense table, as O'Mara and West review Bao's testimony notes.

Bao: "Is there something funny?"

Nelson: "There's no question pending."

I hope the jury is taking the same inference that I am over him being combative -- that he has a narrative and is trying to sell it.

Yes, but his narrative has nothing to do with whether it's good for the state or the defense.

It's just a fact that any paper you take with you to the witness chair can be viewed by both counsels. This guy is a medical examiner and has testified before. He either forgot that or never used notes before. I wonder why he would take so much time, his own "personal" time as he emphasized, in this case?

Doesn't want to let people see or question about his notes?

West found something to nail Bao with in his own notes. I can't wait to find out what it is. Continuing cross-examination after lunch is going to be awesome.

Dr. Bao must really be in trouble with his testimony when Lisa Bloom is criticizing him on MSNBC. Clearly, he is not Ted Danson.

Unbelievable!! "No you cannot!" says ME, upon West's request for copy of notes to which he'd normally be entitled.

Yes, very uncomfortable about them. Who knows what all he wrote. Wasn't there another case where a witness, maybe the defendant, wrote detailed notes and they were an issue?

"Dr. Bao just overrules State objection "That's okay" "

Well, Nelson does it so seldom they probably had one coming.

Does he even understand English?

Is the first time he has testified in court?

Is there any proof that this ME has testified in court before?

:OT This is how to do it. Quote or paraphrase just the content of the tweet. Or, just copy the tweet itself to incorporate into your post without quoting whomever initially posted the tweet. They know they did. ;)

Edit: unitron's post is a great example of what I was trying to explain. unitron quoted the gist of the tweet, or the part he wanted to comment about, used quotation marks to show it wasn't his words but something to which he was responding, then he commented. If we use his method, then the tweets don't garble up the post. Thanks, unitron, for the good example and for pointing out that I wasn't clear in my comment.

I would have liked to see the defense get George's parents on the stand (their first witnesses) this afternoon to testify that it was his voice, which they clearly recognized, which would have shut down any momentum from Sybrina's testimony (assuming Judge Nelson refused a JOA). This witless ME will likely take up the afternoon, with his nonsense. Getting past George's parents would have also allowed them to sit in the courtroom for the rest of the trial.
