I think it is all up to interpretation. The commentator on I think it was WFTV also mentioned about it being brought out about the SYG being the nickname IIRC and overall the witness being better for the defense. So it seems to come down to your point of view. Who knows how the jury will see it.

I agree with Londo and SheStone. I don't think the state made their point and if they did, the defense took the wind out of it by questioning Carter about SYG being a nickname.

It was difficult for me to understand Pleasant, even after they got away from the Trayborg™ (some who were no doubt trying to give him advice and some maybe threats). However, my overall impression of Pleasant was pleasant, heh heh. He seemed to be more concerned than even the defense about pointing out he, Pleasant, had no idea what GZ read or heard for sure.

Whether the jury heard it, or understood his testimony like I did, of course, we can't know until they write books or give semi-anonymous interviews after trial.

I think the ME will be turned around by the defense just like all the state's witnesses. If the ME is asked about toxicology, it comes in right? Can the state and judge keep the marijuana tox out?

I didn't know TM had liver damage.

I've always seen the ME put on the stand close to the beginning of the trial or first.

So if the state never calls the ME who did the autopsy, can O'Mara call for dismissal of the case after the state rests on the grounds that they haven't proven for the record that Martin is dead?

Or at least that it was as a result of Zimmerman's gunshot?

No...as I understood it, the defense got the witness to say that SYG was not a topic in the book that was used, but that in a general overall manor SYG was covered as a self defense - that he didn't teach FL SYG law specifically.

The defense also got the witness to say that you don't have to wait until you're almost dead to defend yourself and that you don't have to be harmed...you need only to feel "fear" in your mind

Further, defense got the state's witness to say that even if one is the aggressor in the beginning, if that person then is being injured, then the other person then becomes the aggressor.

This state witness (an Army JAG, professor, prosecutor) became the ultimate defense witness and practically wrote the defense's closing argument for them.

I have to agree with them, if that's the case. IMO it is most certainly depraved, at best, to want to be a prosecutor like those schemers. I'd bet that GZ intended to be a prosecutor very unlike them; you know, ethical, honest, etc.
