Link below is of the DeeDee call that Crump taped - the one that ABC was present.

Do you think the voice on this taped call sounds like Rachel in court?

I don't think so.

There's definitely the appearance of a pitch difference, but that could be the result of the telephone systems involved cutting lows and highs that were not filtered out of the courtroom feed.

Plus, from testimony yesterday, she was apparently trying to rush through this and get it over, whereas in court we got the full "tired and bored" routine, so that she comes across with less "enthusiasm".

THIS is the sweet innocent DeeDee? Did someone check her ID before she took the stand, becasue she looks 30, not 19.

DeeDee is the present and will probably be the most entertaining act for this show, but Bernie needs to get evidence in that Goerge pulled the trigger.

Since the exceptions for self serving statements leaves only two sources (as I understand it), Tim Smith and the neighbor whose name I can't recall right now, will we see both or either? That seems like it may allow the introduction of evidence that eliminates the need for George to testify self defense, so I wonder what Bernie will do knowing his pants would be wet if he could cross George???

Imagine all the arm flapping and other dramatic body movements we'd see if Bernie could question george on cross!

Quote:
Surdyka said she heard two voices, one "aggressive" and the other a softer voice.

"I truly believe the second yell for help was a yelp," said Surdyka, who later became tearful as prosecutors played her 911 call. "It was excruciating. I really felt it was a boy's voice."

She then heard "pop, pop, pop," as Martin was shot, she said.

Forgive me for calling her a liar, but there was only ONE shot. How did she hear three?

Echos bounced around three times in her cranium until they finally collided in to something.

My guess is she believes she heard 3 shots. The media fairy tale added to her memroy, and she has intentionally distorted facts and logic to justify, in her mind, that the story she recalls is accurate.

She struck me as hanging onto a delusion. When presented with facts that conflicted with her thoughts, she looked like she just wanted to go off into a room by herself until her thoughts would drift off to unrelated topics. Her facial expressions were often dramatic.

She's positioned at the top of "T", it very possible what she heard was the shot and echos off of both buildings which could have sounded like 3 shots.

MOM presser started - says trial moving quickly. Happy with how things are going. Will take questions.

"The only battle in this courtroom is justice and truth. I think we got out some truth today and it will lead to justice."

He thinks it will enter a 3rd week; initial estimate of length essentially correct. Moving along, may seem slow, but in overall scheme of cases of this magnitude, moving along, happy with pace.

Oh, thank goodness. You're so much better at this than I am, Rumpole!

Ah! Scope... much better!

It's a relief to get away from the tube after being here most of the day and the pressers coming from MOM are usually weak on information, strong on smiles.

Look at first announcement on RT index page "no Worries" :)

Thanks for spotting the presser and a link.... good to watch it for the sake of "completeness" but as kbp says..... not likely to be any substance in a MOM presser :wall

Decisions, decisions... Should I risk my computer by trying to sit through "THE Family" presser?

One of the many tiny things that bug me; Fulton and Martin are *the* family and GZ's family isn't allowed to even be with him at all; not his wife, not his parents. BDLR is such a lowlife jerk. I have lost so much respect for prosecutors in general, which I had previously been able to maintain even after Nifong. That was just such an incredibly, pathetically, petty and vindictive thing for BDLR to do -- kick out GZ family.

I thought it was encouraging, if not particularly informative. But there were a few interesting parts. Worth putting up the link for others when it's available. :63
