I think the article was wrong. The state isn't subpoenaing the books from GZ; they're just disclosing their intention to use them at trial. (Though if they saw how overpriced they are, they might want to borrow GZ's copies.)

Being Discovery, that's how I took it. The article was one of two hits that popped up when I was searching the title of the first book, so I shared it with the links.

You're confusing the SYG portion of Florida's Jusifiable Use of Force act (which has no bearing on this case whatsoever) with the immunity portion of the JUoF law, and they only waived a pre-trial immunity hearing, but can still raise the issue later.

You know, this trial could be over in a flash. Especially if Nelson does the right thing and dismisses the mess as soon as the defense asks her to at the end of Bernardo's case in chief. The state's case in chief. I actually laughed as I typed that.

He has not waived his right to his Immunity Hearing, instead he’s asking for it to be rolled into the trial date, due to the state’s stonewalling with hiding evidence they possess.

I too think the "media" report is wrong. Heavens who would have thought.

If the State are presenting the emails and books as "Discovery"... then they have them already.

I think the GZ emails were obtained many months ago by State, and they have been talking about GZ's alleged training in the law from the outset. It was even mentioned by BDLR and Judge Lester at the second bond hearing.

So... as I already stated... it seems VERY late to be presenting "Discovery"
