Trayvon Martin was angry about losing a fight in the hours before he was shot dead by George Zimmerman, claim defence attorneys

  • Zimmerman's attorneys hope to show jurors photos of Trayvon Martin smoking what appears to be marijuana, and several photos of a handgun found on Martin's cell phone
  • Zimmerman's lawyers want to explain to jurors that Martin was an experienced fighter who used drugs
  • A judge will rule next month on what evidence will be allowed at trial

Attorneys for alleged murderer George Zimmerman are now arguing that text messages sent by 17-year-old victim Trayvon Martin - in which he describes being 'angry' following a fight with another teen - the night he was fatally shot by Zimmerman should be heard by a potential jury because it's 'relevant to [Martin's] emotional state,' and would strengthen the defense's claim that Martin was the aggressor in the struggle that ultimately took his life.

'He got mo hits cause in da 1st round,' Martin says in a November 2011 text message, apparently in reference to a fight he'd been in prior to his run-in with Zimmerman. 'He had me on da ground nd I couldn’t do ntn.'

According to Zimmerman's attorneys, 'this is relevant to Mr. Martin’s overall demeanor that day and relevant to his emotional state,' according to a new court filing by Zimmerman's attorneys. It goes on to say that the text messages 'may assist the jury in understanding why Trayvon Martin chose to hide and then confront George Zimmerman rather than simply going home.'

Headline shudda been......

Zimmerman Defence Release irrelevant, inadmissible facts about Little Trayvon Martin.

  • Nothing different from what every small candy-buying child does to relax
  • Nothing in documents to justify Zimmerman getting out of his truck
  • This case is about getting a result (lynching)
  • Truth is not what this investigation is about
  • Documents do not include "Cheerfulness Major" Diploma
  • Documents omit details of recent enrollment in Astronaut School

Maybe I missed your point but I thought this headline was MUCH better than normal and they do not quote Crump.

Trayvon Martin was angry about losing a fight in the hours before he was shot dead by George Zimmerman, claim defence attorneys

I have noticed that the media has virtually stopped their "mistakes" of the past and are getting better. Nettles and I, along with others, have a plan, to hit them hard with lots of emails every time we see a lie. If you see any out and out lies, I would like to know so we set our plan into action. ....PLEASE

I'm having the same thought about saving the best for last. I'm hoping MOM/West has irrefutable evidence GZ was right on the money in thinking TM was up to no good. O'Mara pretty much kept the St. Skittles dream alive until the last discovery dump. If those texts and pics were all the defense had on the angel child, I'm not sure we would've seen them yet. I think maybe they were a warning shot across the state's bow. Hopefully there's more where that came from, and specifically with regard to TM's movements and behaviors the day and early evening of 2.26.12.

Yep. He likely put the wrapped weed in whatever young ganstas refer to as their underwear. (Because I'm sure they don't call it underwear ... or underpants ... or shorts ... or briefs ... or Jockeys.)

Actually, what O'Mara said in his interview with Ryan Smith :roll of HLN (paraphrasing), was that this evidence MAY be used, depending on what the state serves up relative to TM's character. MOM said that in order to use evidence during trial, it must be released in discovery, and so they were releasing this evidence IN THE EVENT they need to use it at trial.

Another wonderful example of Francining, if you ask me. :)

:D I wanted to use the butt smiley but didn't want to go looking fer it!!

It occurs to me St. Skittles probably wrapped the dope then taped the package to his groin area. Otherwise, there'd be no guarantee the wrapped weed would say in his dainties.

Behold The French Inhale! really, I had no idea it was a current thing. It was HUGE when I was much (much) younger...

7.French inhale - Pull the smoke into your mouth without inhaling it. then move your lower jaw up and forward and allow the smoke to flow out while using your nose to inhale it back in.
