Some of us are of the right age to have been exposed to the right periods of time on MTV and movies etc, or have had tangential connections to people who speak like that, or whatever... I myself know that as I was growing up my brother and I, two of the whitest, nerdiest guys you could imagine, were always fascinated and amused by ebonics and gangsta-talk etc. We were never the types to actually talk like that ourselves (unless it be briefly, in private, as a tongue-in-cheek mockery) but we kept up with it, we watched the right movies and TV... things like Peoples' Court type shows, Judge Judy etc those help, COPS helps, MTV helps (though I've avoided it like the plague for years) the right online forums that most people don't wish to be exposed to, those help...

I've also always had a knack for linguistics, I had outrageously high verbal and written language scores on an IQ test I took a few years ago. That helps.

Even still, there are people who can translate that crap waaaay better than I can.

Redaction makes me wonder if the defense is saving the best stuff for trial.

MOM: Do you recall testifying on direct examination that Trayvon had a reputation of being a peaceful Momma's boy that never fought?

W8: Yeah, I said dat.

MOM: Directing your attention to the print out of the text message marked as Exhibit 28, did you receive that text message from Trayvon on February 26, 2012?

Since many memorials include words spoken by the person being memorialized, I believe the Sanford Memorial should now include some of Trayvon Martin's own words. What better way to honor this "normal teenager" than to use his own words to depict what he stood for. I lean towards using this statement - “Naw but he aint breed nuff 4 me, only his nose….. but afta dat im done” - Trayvon Martin.

I knew that some black people talked funny but I did not know they wrote so screwed up until this case.

I think there is an important pattern associated with Trayvon's weed use which sheds light on Trayvon's motive for attacking Zimmerman.

Trayvon communicates with his weed smoking friend on Facebook that "weed is too roped" i.e. that smoking weed creates a great risk of being apprehended.

Trayvon is in fact apprehended and suspended from school for weed.

Trayvon is afraid of getting busted on the bus with weed and goes to rather extreme measures to hide his weed.

Trayvon is involved in some sort of weed related transaction with the 3 stooges at 7-11. At a minimum, Trayvon purchased a blunt for purposes of smoking weed.

Trayvon notices Zimmerman following him and his paranoia of once again being busted with weed motivates his attack on Zimmerman, perhaps after ditching his weed or depositing it in the vicinity of Brandi's porch.

What if.................

....these Traybots (mostly feeble old dears) had been confronted by "Little Tray" lurking outside their own homes?

I doubt their reaction would have been...

"Oh my... you poor child out in the rain with just your non-waterproof hoodie to protect you from the rain. And your parents not home yet. Come into my home and have some wholesome milk and cookies while you wait for your Mom and Pop."

I think every last one of these old dears would have crossed the road to avoid coming anywhere near TM, as he appeared. If close to home, they would have rushed inside, locked and bolted their doors. Perhaps phoned the cops.
If they peeped out their window and saw a neighbour they knew to be "Neighbourhood Watch" they would have been quite relieved.
