kj OMG... what is eating her, or more like it what/WHY is she eating them?
Maybe a Search ... or ask the Vet?

My Lilly starts chewing on a bamboo plant when she is hungry or bored I think. I always catch her.
It's on my desk.

There is one state back east that has the MOST PETS. I thought the west coast was more into pets.
Was it MA?

Joni, the toenails Vlad cracks and rips of are the shells of the old nails, the ones that normally fall off themselves.
Just good grooming, I guess.

How cute. Then she is a great, clean, cat! Cats are new to me... always had dogs, till my neighbor moved out of state and left his beautiful cat here. Come to think of it I heard a HUGE HUGE FIGHT. I bet it was his girlfriend's cat, and HE was telling her to LEAVE IT HERE, when they moved to CA. They did. My neighbor found her about a month later... dirty, starving, dehydrated, fleas, limping, scared. She came to my door and asked me if I thought this was Eric's cat? I said "No, I don't think so." Dumb me. I didn't EVEN RECOGNIZE her. To see what she looks like, see my avatar. That is not her, but looks like maybe a sister of her. Very recently, after about a year or so, I changed Vets. Took her to my new Holistic Vet. She said "Lilly is very healthy, and REALLY pretty! " But - now I even have her on a more healthy diet!!! Lilly gets 1 Nordic Naturals .05 mls Omega 3 Oil Supplement - dropper, (It's wild Anchovy and Sardine Oil), for Cats and small breed dogs, and 1 pill, Standard Process Feline Whole Body Support A5500 (Dietary Supplement).
They easily got her from kibble onto canned foods, but NOW want her on the BEST canned foods, not junk swept up from the floors/cleaning fluid in it sometimes too. YUCK!!!!!!!!!!! They have Freeze Dried Salmon in smallish chunks. I break that up all over anything - and she will EAT IT!! HAPPILY!! IF you want a Holistic Vet, or to go to on ONCE for a food program ... ahvma.org. Website for Holistic Vets - in your area... interested. SORRY for this book but I know we ALL love our little friends.

MY previous Vet gave Lucy 6 months to live. She's my 93 year old rescued Beagle. She was bred ALMOST to death!! She was about 3-4 I think when I got her. She is at the mark now and I don't think her new tumor has grown very much at all. I am spoiling her, and loving her. Grateful to have this beautiful Spring, Summer with her. :81

OH a great place for food is "The Honest Kitchen". It's on the net. Lucy get's their dehydrated food, plus I add meat and fresh vegetables. WHO COULD LIVE ON POWER BARS??? (Kibble).

Joni you spoil pets more than I do!
You are a true animal caregiver and that gets you a front row seat in heaven!! :64

I have two kittys that open the door and sleep in my clothes cupboard,
so I moved my clothes out and added kitty quilts for them.
Soon, I will be living in my car and my kittys will have the apartment for themselves!
Oh, the love! :86 All worth it! :heart

I bought plastic dog stairs for my Maltese Kacie so she can get on the bed. :)

My Lilly sits and stares at my face, waiting for me to wake up and say "Ok girls, let's EAT!"
This is what I wake up to every morning. Lucy can't get up on my high bed ... dear little old Beagle.

A good idea! Not sure now though. My Vet said I should put a bed on the floor in the living room for Lucy. She has her chair that she loves, but with her arthritis ... Sometimes she uses one, sometimes the other. I have it too now and know sometimes it is better, sometimes worse, not sure why. We just automatically adapt without even thinking.

I bought a 2 step wooden thing made by the Amish - for me to get onto my bed, but Lucy doesn't use that. Lilly does - sometimes. :N13

Joni & MM: My avatar is my little guy Riley. He's about 5.5 pounds. He was a pound lighter when I adopted him almost a year ago! He doesn't seem to be too heavy, so I think maybe he's matured into that weight. We've given him a July 4 birthday, so he'll be "officially" 2 on Independence Day.

I don't know exactly what breeds are in there. The animal shelter had him down as part Chihuahua, but I don't see any chi in him. He's definitely got plenty of terrier in there, and I think maybe Maltese. His coat is wiry and just plain odd -- very full in some places and thin in others. I'm thinking about doing one of those DNA kits on him just to see what comes back. He's just a doll and so much fun. Tons of energy and personality. A little on the shy side when we go out, but I would be too if I was that small!!

Thanks for asking. I'm crazy about the little feller. :heart

(I have 3 other pets, too. I'll change my avatar occasionally, lol!)

Two years ago today I got this box of tiny kittens that were retrieved from a dumpster. Today they live like kings and queens with their adopted families! Happy 2nd birthday lucky little kittens!

Meant to say before my Holistic Vet said Lucy (my old Beagle), should have 2 eggs a week, and a little salmon 2x a week, added to her normal meals that she prescribed. She eats twice a day. I think she is about 94 years old. :heart

LOVE love these pets here.

KJ ... OMG I did the same thing! Sliding mirrored doors to the big closet. I left one side open once... and Lilly went in there and slept. Carpeted. BUT like you, lol I put in a folded blanket and a quilt. Now Lucy sleeps there too sometimes. They take turns.
So many beds... so little time...
Bought one of those cute little cat trees. This one is for scratching too. It is to the left of my desk/computer. It is about 2+ feet high. Has a bed/sling like, on the top of it. Lilly loves laying there - getting her head scratched and petted. :cat OMG Lucy is to my right in her chair -- :81 Lilly to the left of me ... good thing I am a good multi-tasker.

Lilly still tries to run out --- then crouches in the grass ... and waits for me. I just go get here. I am putting her in a room though now, before I open the front door. I don't need the worry, it's just The Call Of The Wild I guess. Oh I have started saying sometimes - "Lilly, do you want to eat?" Works every time. Runs back in on her own. :52 Out, a total of 5 seconds. ROFL
BE STILL MY HEART!!!!

She's not mine anymore, but she is a beauty! :hug
