That is the most disturbing photo I've ever seen.

WHY does this jerk keep saying CHAOS? The only chaos was Jodi's murdering FRENZY!!

Every time he says that, this is what I think of - hope the jury is, too!

True! And maybe she wanted to stab him in the shower, so the blood would go down the drain. No DNA. She didn't expect him to get out of the shower, IMO.

I agree. She just wanted to keep on stabbing him till he was dead. She hadn't planned on him living as long as he did. She hadn't thought he could fight for his life like he did.

I agree with both of you - she never expected Travis to get out of that shower!!

But yesterday, something in Martinez' closing gave me something to think about - due to the amount of blood on the bathroom floor, HOW did Jodi manage to get out of the shower after she'd washed herself off and not step on any blood? How did she get to the room, go down the carpeted steps and then the first floor tile with no bloody foot prints or blood???

Did she clean the floor that well before getting into the shower? That there would be no trace of blood, even under Luminol?? I can't understand this.

4:28 p.m. ET:

“She was great to have around for Mr. Alexander for the sexual purposes, but she wasn’t acceptable to his friends, and she might not have been acceptable to his church," said Nurmi.

4:26 p.m. ET: Nurmi is displaying for the jury text messages Alexander sent Arias a month before he died, where he tells he can want to have a pornographic photo shoot with her.

4:23 p.m. ET:

“Those were the words of Mr. Alexander. How do they demonstrate chaos? They demonstrate chaos in the context of this entire relationship. This was from May 10th. May 10th, 2008. A few weeks before the killing, a few days…before he tells (another woman) how he’s afraid of Jodi Arias. Several days later, after this…he’s calling her a whore, a slut and a three-hold wonder,” said Numri.

4:19 p.m. ET: Nurmi said the relationship was chaotic, because of how Arias and Alexander treated each other. Alexander would call her horrible names and then the next day she was the most beautiful woman in the world according to Nurmi.

4:15 p.m. ET: Nurmi is playing a recording of the phone sex conversation the jury heard earlier in the trial. It is very sexually explicit. The jury is hearing Alexander talk about how he wanted to rape her, and tie her to a tree in the woods for a sexual act.

Does bleach erase traces of blood?

Why hair bleach is a murderer's best friend

06 November 2008 by Jeff Hecht

BUDDING crime-scene investigators take note: a common household bleach can render the forensic techniques for detecting blood useless.

There are two types of bleach found in household cleaning products. Chlorine-based bleaches are known to make bloodstains invisible, but applying chemicals such as luminol or phenolphthalein will still reveal the presence of haemoglobin - crucial for identifying blood - even after up to 10 washes. In contrast, oxygen bleach, which contains an oxidising agent such as hydrogen peroxide, erases all trace of haemoglobin. Its effect seems to have been untested until now.

Fernando Verdú and his team at the University of Valencia, Spain, soaked bloodstained fabric in oxygen bleach for 2 hours and compared the results with unwashed controls. They found that the stains faded after bleaching but remained visible. However, luminol, phenolphthalein and direct haemoglobin tests failed to find any haemoglobin in them (Naturwissenschaften, DOI: 10.1007/s00114-008-0466-9).

WHY did she not take the camera???

1) Because she was in a nervous frenzy thinking of the arriving roommates and because of the heinous murder she had just committed and couldn't think straight and picked up the bedsheets to throw in the wash without knowing the camera was inside of them.

2) OR, she figured that the camera going through the wash (bleach or no bleach) would be enough to destroy everything in it - which the camera itself was destroyed, but NOT the SIM Card! Jodi isn't THAT smart to have known this. Many of us didn't know this until we heard this case.

From the crime shows I'm addicted to, they say that it does, but I believe they would have noted that the bathroom smelled like bleach. But then, what about the many places on the carpet where he bled, too?

I suppose that would be the only answer, though. I just don't get how she managed to get out of that bathroom and the bloody rug area without getting any blood on the bottom of whatever she had on and not mark up the rest of where she went in the house? :40

I've read there is some kind of limit - 6 hours, iirc? Not sure. And that yesterday, Juan left an hour off of his for his last word.

She HAD to do "higher order thinking" to get out of that bathroom/bedroom without getting ANY blood on the bottom of her feet!!

Hmmm. Did she lay the towel down and walk over the towel and into the CLEAN, undisturbed closet that had another door to exit to the stairs??

Still, that is a LOT of clever-fog-thinking!

What do these blood details matter, Nurmi? She's ADMITTED doing ALL of it. Why torture everyone with this?

The bleach smell would have dissipated by the time they found him.

I think that is exactly what she did... or something similar.

4:47 p.m. ET:

“The stab had to be first, there had to be blood, there’s no other way for this bullet casing to wind up here. But ladies and gentlemen, does that make any sense?...This [crime scene] is one of chaos as well, isn’t it?...Things were being moved around, kicked around, and there was a fight," said Nurmi.

4:45 p.m. ET: Crime scene investigators say the bloody water marks on Xerox boxes found in Alexander house indicate someone tried to clean it up.

Nurmi said Arias didn't do a very good job if that's what she was trying to do.

4:42 p.m. ET: Nurmi said there is no doubt there was a fight between Alexander and Arias on June 4, 2008 and it was a fight for life.

4:40 p.m. ET: Nurmi said, “Why would somebody who’s experienced with digital cameras, who has planned this murder out for weeks, for a week and a half, why would she then not take the camera with her after she has all these crime scene photos she knows she’s taken?...Why would she stand there, why would she delete some photographs and throw it in the washing machine?"

4:35 p.m. ET: Arias testified Alexander tied her up with a rope for a sex act on June 4, 2008 in his bedroom, and he cut the rope with a knife. Martinez said there was no evidence of a rope in Alexander's house. Nurmi showed a crime scene photo of little piece of rope. Martinez said it was from the fringe of a pillow.

4:32 p.m. ET: Nurmi said if Arias planned this murder then why would she delete photos off of Alexander's camera then put it in the washing machine. He said it doesn't make sense.
