I'm loving Martinez's new approach - put an abrupt STOP to LaViolette! Hope he keeps it up tomorrow!

COURT OVER!

7:28 p.m. ET: The attorneys are at a sidebar. The judge has recessed court for the day. The live blog will pick up when testimony resumes Thursday at 12:30 p.m. ET.

"dildo with a heartbeat" is heard again. I feel like this could be a great name for an upcoming punk rock band.

Arias expert: Travis prayed on vulnerable women
By Graham Winch and Amanda Sloane
updated 7:38 PM EDT, Wed April 10, 2013

Defense attorney Jennifer Willmott wasted no time in attacking Travis Alexander's character when she got her chance to ask domestic violence expert Alyce LaViolette questions again on Wednesday during her redirect examination.

LaViolette says she noticed a pattern in the women Alexander would go after. They were one or more of the following: Married, much younger, single parents and/or Mormon.

"Woman who could be pushed on and go along with it," said LaViolette.

She also said Alexander would fly into fits of rage, which she finds more frightening than anger.

"It is bigger than anger. It feels more out of control for most people. Rage, rage feels like a more out of control emotion... When someone has a pattern of being angry and continuing to be angry it can be very intimidating to the person on the other side of it," said LaViolette.

Earlier Wednesday prosecutor Juan Martinez wrapped his cross-examination of LaViolette. Throughout the day, he hammered home the idea that Jodi Arias was stalking Alexander in the months leading up to his death. LaViolette stuck to her guns, insisting that Arias wasn't a stalker. But at one point, Martinez got her to admit the opposite.

“Isn’t it true that Mr. Alexander was extremely afraid of the defendant, Jodi Arais, based on her stalking behavior?” asked Martinez.

“He was afraid of her, yes,” said LaViolette.

“Because of her stalking behavior, correct?” asked Martinez.

“Correct,” said LaViolette.

Martinez says Arias went to Alexander’s house late one night after they had broken up and spied on him through his window as he engaged in a sexual encounter with another woman. She wrote in her journal that day that she loved Alexander “completely.” The following day, Arias returned to Alexander’s home to confront him about the incident. Martinez says these actions support her stalking behavior.

Martinez also got LaViolette to admit that there was no evidence to corroborate Arias’ claims of physical abuse, aside from Arias’ word. The same goes for her allegation that she caught Alexander masturbating to photos of young boys.

“Have you ever seen those pictures?” asked Martinez.

“No I have not,” said LaViolette.

“You’ve looked at the journal, haven’t you?” asked Martinez.

“I have looked at the journal,” said LaViolette.

“The journal doesn’t mention anything about this incident, does it?” asked Martinez.

7:19 p.m. ET: LaViolette says these are isolated incidents, not patterns of behavior. She says she also looks at patterns of behavior when it comes to Alexander -- not isolated incidents.

7:17 p.m. ET: Arias' dad talked about her not being truthful. LaViolette says it's common for parents to have issues with their teenager's truthfulness.

OK. WOW! Thanks for keeping us updated. :heart I only watched for a few minutes today.

I walked in when Alyce was asked on re-direct about her license. Does anyone remember what tupe of license? :69

She says she is a Psychotherapist, but I can't find anything on her educational background or license. Nothing in her CV says where or when she attended college ect.

The prosecutor brought out she does not have a PHd.

Anybody can call themselves a "psychotherapist"

Not same as "Psychiatrist"... which requires a medical degree

Yes, I know. I just wonder what license she has, if any, and her education.

Its the microphone to the court reporter so he can record the side bar for the record.

Thanks! This is what I thought.

Alyce has a Masters Degree which doesn't qualify you for any license so she got a License as a Marriage & Family Counselor. I have a feeling that she didn't even have all of the requirements to take the Licensing test but rather she was" grandfathered " in because she had many years of counseling experience.
