6:08 p.m. ET: LaViolette explains why the text message fight between Alexander and Arias is important to her assessment. She says Alexander was getting really angry at Arias for something that actually happened not something that was made up (the fact that he was having a relationship with another woman). He also threatens Arias, telling her he'll tell people about her "craziness" and that she'll "feel the wrath."

It is silly talking about this bf/gf text/email stuff.....

It is common nonsense.. and NOTHING to do with with one person butchering the other.

6:17 p.m. ET: LaViolette says there's a cycle where Alexander and Arias have an argument and Arias apologizes, then Alexander apologizes and they make up.

6:14 p.m. ET: Arias sent Alexander only part of the message, which was intended for an ex-boyfriend. He asks her to send him the rest of it. LaViolette says this shows jealous behavior and that Alexander has a pattern of such behavior.

6:11 p.m. ET: Willmott is now asking LaViolette about a text message Arias accidentally sent Alexander.

6:22 p.m. ET: When Alexander accidentally texts a message for someone to Arias, he calls it "pulling a Jodi." LaViolette says it seems to have happened before in the past. LaViolette says the accidental text message Arias sent to Alexander (mentioned earlier) doesn't seem to have been sent intentionally in an effort to incite Alexander's wrath.

6:17 p.m. ET: LaViolette says there's a cycle where Alexander and Arias have an argument and Arias apologizes, then Alexander apologizes and they make up.

What a dopey question... would she not have written it down to help prove if she was making stuff up?

For heavens sake... JODI made all the stuff up long after she wrote in her journal... THAT is the whole point... it is NOT there in journal because it never happened at the time she wrote it.... she made it up later :wall

It only exists in Jodi's mind... she can not go back in time and add it to her journal.

6:31 p.m. ET:

“If Ms. Arias was trying to make it up [the abuse], wouldn’t it be helpful for her to actually write those things down so she can actually prove it later on?” asked Willmott.

“It would have been beneficial to have evidence and most people don’t,” said LaViolette. She says victims of domestic violence don't usually report the abuse.

6:27 p.m. ET: The attorneys are at a sidebar.

6:26 p.m. ET: LaViolette says she doesn't consider Arias' journals incomplete because she didn't write every detail down. She says that Arias didn't write negative things about Alexander, in part, because he asked her not to.

6:25 p.m. ET: Willmott asks LaViolette about Arias' high IQ:

“The fact that someone has a high IQ… does that relate to them having high self-esteem?”

“No,” said LaViolette.

“Did you get the sense that this high IQ somehow made her feel better about herself and gave her high self-esteem?” asked Willmott.

“No, I did not get the impression at all that Ms. Arias felt good about herself or proud about herself," said LaVilotte.

6:24 p.m. ET: LaViolette says there's a pattern of Arias apologizing and trying to de-escalate things during fights.

I agree about the entire premise of this testimony is a LIE. Fake Journals!

I wish Juan Martinez had been a little more incisive, more focused with his questions of LaViolette. He could have easily backed her into corners repeatedly. He seems to get too bogged down with the minutiae and the point becomes lost amidst all the back and forth with the witness.

6:39 p.m. ET: LaViolette says this incident didn't stand out to her. It's the pattern of him making harsh and critical comments to Arias that matters to her.

6:37 p.m. ET: The attorneys are at a sidebar.

6:35 p.m. ET: Willmott is asking LaViolette about the time Alexander and Arias were going on a hiking trip. Alexander took things out of her backpack to lighten her load. She got upset. Alexander made a "harsh" and "sarcastic" comment. The two went upstairs. Martinez objects to Willmott saying Alexander was overheard "yelling" at Arias.

6:33 p.m. ET: The attorneys are at a sidebar.

6:46 p.m. ET: LaViolette says many domestic violence victims minimize their abuse.

"You have to live with yourself. You love somebody and you don't want to think that somebody you love really thinks those things about you. So you explain it to yourself so you don't have to feel horrible," said LaViolette.

She says that recording abuse in a journal would memorialize their abuser's actions.

6:42 p.m. ET: LaViolette says Alexander told Arias to rip pages out of her journal that were negative about him and that this was part of his controlling behavior.
