Judge asks "has juror #5 contact any of you since she was excused?" No one raises their hand. Juan is up again with questioning.

Back to snow White... and a "trap" proving she did not give the key note address on whether Snow White was a battered woman.

2:08 p.m. ET: Martinez is now showing LaViolette a copy of her curriculum vitae. He seems to says something is inaccurate about it. The attorneys are at a sidebar with the judge.

2:06 p.m. ET: Martinez is now asking LaViolette about her presentation about how whether "Snow White" was a battered woman.

2:05 p.m. ET: Martinez and LaViolette are going back and forth on whether she used the continuum in her evaluation of Arias. Martinez wants to know if she did not use it in the case then why did she use it in court.

2:03 p.m. ET: LaViolette said she used it in her evaluation of the case, but not as a diagnostic tool. She says she uses it as a training tool.

2:01 p.m. ET: Martinez is asking LaViolette whether she uses her abuse continuum chart to determine if someone is a domestic violence relationship.

1:58 p.m. ET: The judge asked the jury if Juror 5 had contacted them over the weekend, and no one said Juror 5 contacted them.

1:55 p.m. ET: LaViolette is taking the stand, and the jury is being seated.

2:19 p.m. ET: Martinez said the schedule of the conference said someone else was the keynote speaker. LaViolette said it was a break out keynote address she gave.

2:12 p.m. ET: On LaViolette's curriculum vitae it says she gave a keynote speech about "Snow White" being abused in Los Angeles in 2010. Now Martinez is admitting a schedule of the conference into evidence. The attorneys are at a sidebar with the judge.

2:30 p.m. ET: Martinez asked LaViolette why she doesn't think interviews are important when she said in the clinical world 90% of communication is non verbal.

2:27 p.m. ET: Martinez wants to know if LaViolette needs to conduct her own independent interviews in order to render an opinion on a case. LaViolette said she looked at other materials including texts and emails and other evidence to form her opinion.

2:23 p.m. ET: Martine has moved back to asking LaViolette about how she used her abuse continuum to evaluate Arias.

2:20 p.m. ET: Martinez is showing the schedule of the conference that mentions her address and it does not say anything about her being a break out keynote speaker.

I KNOW there are occasions where yes or no answer can not be given... but there ARE occasions when it can. This woman simply will not utter those simple words.....

Juan asked Alyce if she gave an opinion on a relationship between Travis and another woman, Shetanya, without speaking to either of them.

Alyce said Shetanya was vulnerable in the relationship. Juan asked "when was she vulnerable?" Alyce only read text messages and IMs.

Alyce said 2008.

She gets texts and IMs mixed up. She is an azz on the stand. She can't answer yes or no. She did not interview women she gave an opinion on regarding Travis.
I have no idea why talking heads like her. Yuk!!

IMO Alyce was advised over the weekend not to be so arrogant and bitchy.

I think she wants to be but she's holding back and showing a veneer of civil politeness.

2:43 p.m. ET: Martinez showed the jury a copy of the court's transcript that shows LaViolette discussing the importance of non-verbal communication. He asked LaViolette if she was a human lie detector? LaViolette said Martinez was mischaractizing her statements.



2:34 p.m. ET: LaViolette just read a document with a quote from her earlier testimony where she said in the clinical world is 90% of communication is non verbal. LaViolette said the quote is being taken out of context. The attorneys are at a sidebar with the judge.
