Samuels has testified Arias suffered from outbursts of anger which is a symptom of PTSD, but Martinez pointed out she has had outbursts with her mother before the alledged trauma of killing Alexander.

POST trauma effects can't include behaviour that was already there... such as anger/violence towards her mother.

2:06 p.m. ET: Martinez said Arias hit her mother "no reason" when she was a teenager. He also said Arias argued with her mother all the time when she was teenager. Samuels said it wasn't relevant to the diagnosis. The defense objected to Martinez's questioning, and now the attorneys are at a sidebar.

2:13 p.m. ET: Martinez is asking Samuels why he disregarded a incident where she got violent with her mother, and an incident just months before the murder when he diagnosed Arias as suffering from irritability and anger. Samuels said some of the behavior may have been present before the trauma, but in his clinical judgment Arias did suffer from irritability and anger and he stands behind it.
