Can you see Travis saying those awful things to his church friends or even any other friend but Jodi? No...I think given more time without Jodi in his life, Travis would have settled in on his own good set of principles to live by. But Jodi was a constant temptation. He was still pretty young when he was with Jodi and he got exposed to a lot of tempting thoughts from her. He'd have been embarrassed to talk like that with anyone else. Obviously, Jodi was his dirty little secret. I defend him as he acted with others and not with Jodi the bad influence in his life. Remember at some point he rejected her and I think given time, he'd have just remembered all the "Jodi times" as a filthy bad dream and turned out to be as nice a guy as any other.

Good post about the "temptress" Jodi was to Travis. He KNEW she was bad for him, that he wouldn't/couldn't have a future with her, but it was hard to break away. What really shows us that Travis had no honorable intentions with Jodi is that he never introduced her to ANY of his family!! I believe she mentioned this fact on the stand at some point? If nothing else, THAT was the handwriting on the wall for her. From what she's said on the stand, I'd say she was acutely aware of the implications of his actions.

Haven't seen much of the trial but today did see a clip of the interview tape that was taken I believe right after Travis' death. She did a head stand and looked in the waste and so on. Strange.

What should Travis have done if this whacko wouldn't leave him alone? Call Police? Restraining Order?
A lawyer? He must have been between a rock and a hardplace. He even said to his mentor "If I get killed--
it was Jodi!"

What can do when one wants to RID THEMSELVES of a whacko WHO WON'T GO AWAY?? She took advantage of his male red blood cells certainly by trying to destroy him -- then when he's down, showing up I bet to "comfort him".

I knew she was evil when she kept talking and talking to him and talking to him when he couldn't even stay awake!!
ME ME ME ME ME ME! I WANT I WANT I WANT! Good trick Jodi ... tape him when his defenses are so down ... can hardly stay awake.
She always tried hard to hold all the cards didn't she, except the ACE which was TRAVIS! She couldn't GET that one!
What a disgusting creature "IT" is. :18

packy that might not get in the trial. WHY? She was singing, laughing, talking to herself about her "make up". GET THE STRAIGHT JACKET!!! NOW!!!

When my daughter saw it, she said that maybe she was trying to get some color in her face or make it look like she was upset or to help her "cry." But I do think Jodi HAD to know she was being filmed. Right?

Joni - I believe I read that the jurors, while able to watch parts of the interview with Det. Flores, they were not allowed to view that segment.

I agree, after watching all the "Stalked" episodes, that Travis wouldn't be able to stop her in any official way. Also, it was complicated because he was maintaining a relationship with her.

Maybe any red blooded man living alone, not having any active sex life with anyone, WOULD succumb to a PRO if it was THROWN in his FACE from time to time. I can understand that. Travis had no idea of the DANGER lurking in the wings ... or he wouldn't have even done that.

I wonder if he didn't know where this could/would end, since SHE woudn't "allow" him to get any other relationship going ... and tried to pacify her occasionally by giving in to her? SHE IS AGRESSIVE ... even Ryan said that. Nymph!! Whacko FREAK!

There is absolutely NO WAY any of us can protect ourselves from others. Jodi was definitely a stalker and a very dangerous one. But had Travis gone to the police and told them that Jodi was going to butcher him to death on 4 June, they could and would have done nothing. Unfortunately, the police are there for helping AFTER bad events.

Packy, your Avatar is gorgeous! It woke me up. :HSG

3rd definition of 'stalk': "to pursue obsessively and to the point of harassment".

Well, Jodi was certainly guilty of that. In hindsight of course...Travis might have had a little help if he'd reported every instance of her stalking. He might have even charged her with that and gotten a restraining order or some punishment for her. Not that Jodi wasn't so obsessed that she'd have stopped...you just have to wonder if she could have been scared into stopping the stalking.

But I do think Jodi is a mental case...'personality disorder' someone called it on TV today. Personality disorders sound pretty benign but are very serious negative mental conditions. Jodi is mentally ill and would be a real risk to society if let loose. She needs to go to the adult play-pen for good.

I think Travis didn't know/or admit to himself the full extent of her evilness.

1. He probably should have changed the locks.
2. REMOVE the doggie door.
3. Get a Burgular Alarm in the house.
4. Explain to his roomates ...

All of this so hard when you have roomates. Poor guy. Embarassing too.

I don't think he could have believed or known he would truly get killed do you think?
Hmm why would he tell a friend or 2 though ... OMG.

Amazing how she might have stolen some TRUTH from his scary robbery experience. Gun to his temple ...

KEEP HER OFF OUR STREETS!

rt I had a Stalker back home. Many people in Show Biz get them. Awful!!! Very stressful. Mine went on for years. The Captain told me to REPORT EACH and every harassment. He was helping me build a file. That is good advice. The Cops would say **"Did you see him do it?"** Well, no, he usually did it when I worked nights!!! BEFORE the Chief, I stopped reporting because of that comment. He did extensive damage, killing a gorgeous weeping Cherry tree I planted while young, my new car, house. Even chiseled out the mortor between the SAME 2 bricks. Just 2 of them. Scary ... Always waiting out front for me when I got home from work at 3 AM.
He was young ... asked to live with me, I said I couldn't. I worked nights and couldn't "mind him". This was when he was young... I had a big house, they had a tiny house. I moved when he was 17. After I left, went to jail for something else I heard. Record longer than my arm.

Joni, your story is amazing. And you are one lucky gal. That would have scared me to death. I would have had to lure him into my house and then shoot him under our make my day law. I'm so glad you survived.

Travis might have felt like a sissy to have to report her stunts and ask for help protecting himself against a woman. And he may well have thought 'this too will pass'. But she was a woman scorned and she got him! And I am still amazed that she got the upper hand. Men beware.

I cannot wait for Nurmi's closing argument. I can hear it now. "Jodi didn't want to do what she had to do...it was so stressful, holding that gun and never remembering pulling the trigger, and forgetting she even held a knife at all. Somebody else probably did that part. The poor little thing also suffered so much PTSD that she at first denied doing any of what she did because she forgot it all! And then the pain of all the delusions of having seen others actually kill Travis! Please, I beg you to do the right thing and let my people (Jodi) go!"

I think she is very aware of the cameras. I think everything she is doing is planned. Her behavior keeps reminding me of the movie Primal Fear (with Edward Norton and Richard Gere). I believe it's ALL just an act.

MM I believe EVERYTHING is scripted with her too. Sounds like a good film, sorry I missed that one.

I think Juan is getting close. I can't wait to hear his "closing remarks". Everybody said the SECOND group of questions would be SOOO telling. THEY were - picking up the pieces after the first batch and we could tell by them WHERE the Jury stood. But even if maybe 5 people were writing the questions, I also heard THEY WOULD BE THE LEADERS ... so that is good too!! That's when I think everyone started thinking Juan won them over. AND imagine questions too for Dr. Dick .... forget his name. Dr. Dick will do. Imagine questions for witnesses ... I love it! Wow!

Amazing how she had time to work she is SO INTO HERSELF!! What a wannabe, shallow, evil creature.

Jodi never ever dreamed of this ...

I loved seeing Jodi those last days. Looks like she has egg on her face ... or somehow is "caught".

On HLN I saw workmen building to scale, a life size model of Travis' bathroom and hall. I can't wait till Monday night on HLN @ 10PM EST (7PM here) to watch a real enactment of Jodi's slaughter. How lucky we are to have time stamped photos of the murder.
So Rare :DN4

Why aren't they going to do this for the REAL JURY too? They DO things like that, don't they, or take them to the scene? I heard they won't be doing that. WHY could that be? Maybe after seeing IF it works well on HLN - they might???

Who could ever buy poor Travis' house? His family won't be able to live in it ...

Hello everyone! Busy weekend! :95

Joni - I'm looking forward to the HLN show, too. Please keep reminding us of the HLN Monday night reenactment because I don't want to miss it. But I hope they will allow a for a small delay when counting off the 29 (horrid) stabs. That was no "quicky" stabbing - angry, yes, but not quick.

Joni, so sorry to hear about your stalker experience. It is frightening and I'm glad you were spared any further damage.

I agree with you about Travis not really realizing just how serious Jodi's problems were and how far she was willing to go - or that anyone could do what she eventually did. I also agree that he didn't tell his friends due to embarrassment (one roommate said he never even heard Jodi and Travis fighting). I think also involved was that Travis had the "leader" personality. He was probably thinking this was a problem he SHOULD have been able to handle himself - but he just didn't know the evil depths of Jodi's heart.

Packy's cheerful avatar did that to me, too, rt!

Watching those "Stalked" episodes, I am always appalled how little the police can do to help - even after things are documented sometimes! I agree that Travis didn't stand a chance with this dangerous woman.

kj thanks so much for that - and R. too.

R ... I can at least tell kj how to do 9/10 of it like I do? Maybe she won't have my little problem. I am so happy to be able to do it, and to not annoy you anymore ... with respect to that! :83

Jodi is a PRO in being a sneaky skank!! Well schooled! Poor poor Travis, dirtying himself like that.
He SURE went slumming ... didn't he. :97
