Not to mention the pissing and spraying.
My other male is also neutered, I don't regret one minute of it.
It's just too soon for me to forget!!!!! I can't forget the look on
his face when I was taking him to the vet, looking at me through
the carrier gate.

Just got here now. OK I will let her get in the tub. I think I discouraged her because I have a nice shower curtin ... cloth. Nails get caught! lol

GOOD NEWS!!!! Lucy's tumor has not grown! 5 months now? A little discharge though ...
They can't tell if Cancer unless biopsy. BUT disturbing the tumor could make it grow!! They don't like that - to be disturbed. NOT worth it to me. She said some "parents" HAVE to know! NOT me, risking her life so I can KNOW?? NO NO. The other Vet said she would probably live 6 months.

My Holistic Vet suggested Homeopathy. I will try it. Balancing the body. Herbs, etc.? Have to read up on it first. Lots of watching, writing, recording, etc... She's WORTH it!

I Love Lucy :DN4 (And she loves me --- we're as happpy as we can be...)

Great news about Lucy. Joni :24

I hope you sing to her? I am sure that is what is really helping with her treatment

I do sing "You Ain't Nothin' But A Hound Dog" :DN4 often to Lucy. She looks at me. A Beagle.

Sometimes I sing I Love Lucy :DN4 ... and she loves me...

Lucy had some discharge when the Vet squeezed her. Not sure what that means. Sometimes means it is getting rid of the BAD! Should I try the Homeopathy? I have to search that ... herbs I think. Trying to get her in total "balance" - "harmony". One is not if growing tumors... I think. :97

Her heart murmur is somewhat worse. I am worried about that and have the name of an EMERGENCY HOSPITAL in case something happens to her. Told me the symptoms ... OMG. Will do a dry run ...

I need some help here - please. THE CALL OF THE WILD ... is calling Lilly. You know she was out loose for about a month ... almost dying out there. Fleas, dehydrated, starving, injured leg, etc. Her owner moved and didn't take her with him. I think she belonged to his girlfriend and he forced her to put her out thinking "someone" would take her. Well, they didn't and she almost died. Didn't look at ALL like herself when a neighbor brought her over and asked if I thought this was "Eric's cat".

SHE RUNS OUT NOW every chance she gets. Weather is beautiful here. Doesn't go far ... hangs around - but runs from me. Heartattacksville!!! I had Tom chase her, went inside and hid, put some snacks on the patio, and left the slider door open about 10". Tom chased her back in I guess. I had to worry about Lucy getting out too. Yesteterday THAT is exactly what happened. FIRST LILLY got out, then Lucy too. They hang around ... but Lilly hides. More playful and younger.

WHAT can I do about this? Lucy has to go out about every 90 minutes so this is on-going all day long!
She is about 92 now - can't help it. :95 :6 :8 :60

Not much you can do Joni... other than be vigilant.

I have always had cats free to come and go... brought up that way. But I accept that is not always the best way for all people.

Since you need Lilly to stay inside you need to make sure she is in a secure room/part of the house when you are taking Lucy in and out.

If Lilly does escape... she will almost certainly come back... but it is a worry to have an indoor cat be outdoors.

Thanks R. it sure is.

1. Find her
2. Catch her
3. Take her to another room and close the door.

LOL THIS, every 90 minutes. Lucy has to go out often, she's 92.

I thought of another thing. Let Tom take Lucy out, and I can be standing by the door AT THE READY with Tom's extra cane!!???

Once she tried to get out the front door. It was Sunday and the heavy Sunday paper was rolled up on the ground outside the door. I saw her running out and ooops blocked her with the heavy Sunday paper!! Funny, she hasn't tried to run out the front door again. Fast learner?

I guess those are the 2 choices, put her in another room/door shut, or stand guard at the double door with a cane while Tom tends to Lucy. (sigh)
Thanks R.

That's Life :DN4

I think those are your only options, Joni!

I'm lucky that Tiger is more fearful than curious of the outside. You have to enter a patio enclosed by a six foot high wooden fence to get to my front door, so if Tiger did run out, he would have to jump the fence or dig under the fence or fence door to escape. (He could do it if he really wanted to.)

Oh MM Tiger sounds very smart too!! Probably doesn't look enticing to him looking at a big wooden fence?? I wonder if it was all open if Tiger would act the same?

The double doors here open to a patio then a nice big patch of grass. I was mindful of grass for Lucy AND southern exposure for her too and the apartment. I think it looks very inviting to Lilly now too. There is a path, some residents, and critters!! AND she was out lost for a month - and now has once again the call of the wild? Maybe she thinks now she will have the best of both worlds, like R.'s cats have? I was so lucky in my PA house. The south sun was at my kitchen table in the AM... moved over to my office/music room next (where I went next)... then moved over the L.R. where I went after that, for a nice nap, reading or whatever till I had to start getting ready for work!! LOVE THAT SOUTHERN EXPOSURE! Everything great ... then my stalker!!!

Tiger enjoys the warmth of the southern exposure, but for humans in South Florida, it's not such a great thing, but the light is lovely.

Does Lilly like chasing squirrels? Kacie has become quite the squirrel chaser.

I only knew Lilly sitting in the window next door, looking so beautiful and regal. Great posture, attitude, great beauty.

Never saw her out... except when she ran out those 2-3 times. She only hung around the building/bushes, running from us, and we flushed her back to the patio and double door, so I don't know.

Oh that's right ... in south FL it might not be so good. It is good here in OR because in the winter ... lots of light rain ... very light with silver skies. So different than back east. I don't even mind it. But still, lots of rain. Never mud, etc. No rain in the summer. Everyone has underground watering.

'nite buds. x

She makes very weird little sounds while watching birds or squirrels though. Very strange sounds...

Mine was named "Snuggles" She was a great dog - the runt of the litter. She would play fetch forever. Unfortunately, she started having seizures and then went blind. My ex put her to sleep.

Yes! Tiger makes strange sounds when he's on the hunt... watching birds, squirrels, lizards on the patio.

I have often wondered about this. Lilly had a bad limp too when I found her... but after 3-4 days alone in my quiet bedroom away from Lucy, it somehow got better on her own. I was afraid she might be afraid of old Lucy because she wasn't raised with a dog - next door.

Ha ha ha "How Can I Ignore The "DOG" Next Door :DN4 OH NO, THAT'S THE BOY NEXT DOOR!!

Anyone know what is the most common ways cats hurt their legs? I was just curious... my poor little girl. I can't even remember what the Vet said now. I did take her to a Vet within 2-3 days. She needed to be set up, litter pan, Vet, bowls, food, etc.

TIA :84

MM how awful for our babies. On the hunt ... while behind a screen door.

Flight or fight? Poor frustrated babies.

I couldn't believe what I saw today. Lilly as usual, put her face between two of the small blinds in my bedroom.
BEFORE I knew it... her entire BODY disappeared behind the blinds and she was sitting on the windowsill...
in FRONT of the blinds for a better view! WHAT IF the entire BLIND comes down on her head?

Wow - I live in an apartment. OMG. Anyway to stop THAT? How did this magician do that? Slip inbetween 2 blinds with her whole body? She made a LOT of noise!!!

Oh, yes... I've replaced many blinds in my pet owning days! Luckily, I only have vertical blinds now. Dog and cat can easily go in front of them without damaging them. And I haven't found any chew marks on them...yet. I had to replace them when I moved in...lots were chewed by former owners' dog.
