(forgive my not very precise figures) The prosecutor is trying to show that one of the amounts ($19 and change) divided by the $3.85 or so per gallons of gas, amounts to the 5.09 gallons of gas that would correspond directly to her having a THIRD gas can with her. Which, of course, shows she really premeditated this crime by having enough gas on her too never have to stop in Arizona for gas so there would never be any record.

During the cross yesterday, when they got to this part, Nurmi quickly objected and even slyly gave Jodi an excuse to say (Objection: that money could have been used for anything at the gas station." Don't know if Arias caught on because the judge requested they approach).

I read yesterday that when Nurmi requested to be taken off the case, his excuse was that he was beginning his own private practice - so the court agreed to pay his going rate - $225 per hour!!

WOW remote, if jodi didn't need to stop & kill Travis, that trip
to Utah was only a hop, skip, and a jump away in the other direction.
She used other activities as the reason she went so far beyond, but never did any
of the other things she went for. That map alone shows much premeditation.

Yes, kj, that was quite a distance she had to drive to do the killing! There is no way around that it wasn't premeditated, and like I said the other day, the longer Jodi is on that stand, the more she is humanizing and ingratiating herself (albeit in an annoying way) and "bonding" with the jurors. I don't think many will have the stomach to give her the death penalty after this.

Remote - thank you for that gasoline receipts information. That makes sense to me! If Juan can prove premeditation then there IS no verdict but 1st degree murder. Life or death doesn't matter to me, one is just as bad as the other. But if she gets death she'll just be spending more time in hell. Oh Lord, forgive me for that!

Yes, I, too, had to catch up (only began watching the trial on Jodi's first day of cross examination) and had to go back to watch the opening statements on Youtube. Go to youtube and put "Jodi Arias Trial Opening Statements" and you will have quite a few selections for both opening statements.

If you have time during this trial break, you should watch Mimi Hall (Jodi Arias trial day 2, I believe), Ryan Burns and Det. Flores. You can just put "Jodi Arias Trial Ryan Burns" or Det. Flores into the youtube search. If you look for the youtubes by David Lohr (he's a crime writer), he usually posts them with no sidebars or break interruptions.

I read that a couple who knew Travis said that Jodi would sneak into his house (while he was out on dates or such) and HIDE IN HIS CLOSET! That Travis would open up the closet for something and there she would be - STANDING THERE!!

Can you imagine this?? Shudder.

That sounds to me like a true Fatal Attraction. I wonder if Travis should have notified the Police?
OR gotten a burgular alarm for his house?

I wonder how she got in his closet in his LOCKED bedroom?

Maybe when one has roomates it would be more difficult to do these things. Poor young man.

This is a well-done, animated demonstration of how the killing possibly happened. It is a 10 minute video and really begins at about 1:39. Apparently, the creator of this video did it in response to Bryan Carr, Jodi's obsessed fan. I always admire how some people take the time to create things like this.

He had a dog, Napoleon. But according to roommates, he was deaf and blind. Also, the dog knew Jodi, so that was probably why the dog didn't alert. He was also non-responsive, according to Jodi, when she arrived at Travis' house at 4:15am and stood behind him watching him as he worked on his computer!! Jodi did say on the stand that the dog always barked when there was someone at the door. It's hard to know what's true when it is Jodi telling us, though.

At the crime scene, one of the roommates who found Travis says that the doggie guard gate was up at the bottom of the stairs, which was unusual. Premeditation much, Jodi?

This is the receipt shown for the gas amounts (it's unfortunate that we cannot see the dates). Also, there is a charge (looks like a credit, but others say it's just a pen marking) for priceline.com (plane ticket? rental car?) There is also a charge from the airport parking. With no dates, it's hard to tell what's what.
