MM I had to pick up Lucy's holistic food today. I asked (for you all and me) "If I can't get here for her food sometime, what should I buy to give her in the meantime?"

She said for Dogs - canned Dog food ... with NO GRAINS! Give 2 eggs a week, and some canned salmon for the FISH OIL!! Twice a week. :81

For cats buy canned Cat food with NO GLUTEN and NO GRAINS.

My cats catch rats often... large ones.

They bring them in whole and dead.. as a gift.. that is OK... I praise them and can dispose of a whole rat in the garbage.

They bring them in dead and chew on them and sometimes make themselves sick... not so good.

They bring them in still alive and let them go and play with them... very BAD!!!!

Rat hunts around the house are not amusing

Bad, Very Bad, OMG! BAD, BAD kitty!! :94

Learned about holistic flea care.
Sprinkle Baking Soda all over your carpet. BRUSH it in with a clean broom (that you buy) for that purpose till it can no longer be seen. Wait 15 minutes. Vacuum it up!

Lilly brought them into my house. I also have those good flea traps ... using a light/grid. They try to get near the light and fall through the grid, onto very very sticky paper. This has all been doing a good job.

Poor Lucy - never fleas in the house before ... that I knew of.

MM :28 :84

Boy what I've been missing most of my life.
Lilly could be a Social Director on a cruise ship.
She really knows how to "plan a day".
So many places to "cat nap", so many windows to look out of...
so many friends here - 3.
I think she is also a very happy girl! God KNOWS I TRY!!
I know, I am! :19

:28 Hi Joni. I keep missing you, sometimes by minutes!

:79 I wasn't allowed to have pets growing up. We lived in an apartment and my mother was not an animal person anyway. The first thing I did when I moved into my own place was get a dog! I haven't been without a dog and/or cat since! :79

MM what a pity. I am glad you now have both ... yes?
Better late than never ... they say.

It's all OK. I will read your messages ... I just pop in sometimes and can't even stay!

MM hi! Yes I miss you too. BUT - I usually come on for just a few minutes.
Today made some mini quiches for my neighbors/friends here. Always much to do,
especially around this time of the year.

Lucy seems to be holding her own here. I am grateful for every quality day we have. I MAKE it quality!!

Have to do dinner now, then delete some .. or this will crash!!!

BIG HOLIDAY HUGS!! :84

Also known as "The Juicy Bird", this is my 6 yr old male Joe (Josey). He came to me small, he and one other sibling were spared when a raccoon killed his mother & 2 siblings in a garage. To this day, he is afraid of everything. Well, not everything, he trusts me completely. He is very skid-ish and predictable. Joe loves his trixie, a small toy he will retrieve over & over & over again. Always clean as a whistle, and never out of line. :63

kj I have heard recently that "patting" like - there there it's ok - is very helpful to pets and Autistic children. Poor little Joe, suffering from Post Traumatic Stress I bet. Lilly has a bit of that too. She was abandoned close to a month, fighting to survive, little gentle soul that she is.

Here is a CAT CLOCK - note it is only 8" in diameter.

I wonder if it has the proper "meow" as the one with birds does...

My Lilly is 5 o'clock. But she is more like my avatar. :79
