I see speculation that Joseph Mifsud has vanished... maybe killed

I RECALL the guys at The Duran reporting that he was in ROME a few months ago. In fact Barr and Durham travelled to Rome... I thought to interview him... but maybe that was just to listen to Recordings by him??

Joseph Mifsud has returned from the abyss just as impeachment proceedings begin against President Donald Trump—or has he?

ROME—Joseph Mifsud, the erstwhile professor from Malta whose promise to help then-candidate Donald Trump’s campaign aide George Papadopoulos get his hands on Russian “dirt” about Hillary Clinton has reportedly resurfaced.

On Wednesday, the Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera posted a six-minute audio recording in English it says Mifsud sent from an anonymous email account late Tuesday night. A short time later, the Italian news agency Adnkronos published a clip it received. Whether other publications received the Mifsud missive is not clear, nor is the more important question of whether it’s genuine.

Last summer Attorney General William Barr and U.S. Attorney John Durham traveled to Rome twice to learn what they could from Italian secret service officials about the professor as part of their investigation into the Russian investigation led by Robert Mueller. Mifsud has not been seen for two years and speculation has swirled around the question of whether he is still alive and, if he is, who is supporting him.

The Corriere clip starts with a brief introduction. “Today is the 11th of November 2019” and continues, “I am Joseph Mifsud speaking, this is my voice.” It does sound like other recordings of Mifsud.

He goes on to say that he has had “no contact with friends and family for a number of months now.” While he doesn’t say where he is or where he has been, it is clear that—if this is Mifsud—he hopes that he can come back out from under whatever rock he has been hiding under for the last two years.

“It is extremely important finally … that I am given the possibility of coming back to life,” the voice says. “It has been very, very difficult for me to live like this, without any human contact, without a human experience, and I believe that I should be given the opportunity to do that. It is extremely important that somebody somewhere decides to let me breathe again.”

He does not say who is keeping him from resurfacing or why he has chosen to go underground. But he does make a laborious attempt to explain that he is “just a networker” who connects people who might be interested in “similar topics.”

(She turned out to be the "manager of a wine store" in moscow and a student?... or maybe less reputable than that according to some Russian media. A guy like Mifsud might raise suspicions but the Company "Center for international law practice" was supposedly VERY reputable including ex-high officials from Western governments/ ministers/diplomats. So Papa took this as creditable. Thought he had potential very useful contact. Note Trump had been open about seeking "good relations" with Putin and Russia.. in the normal International relations sense... so perhaps turning that into a a (false) sinister thing to discredit Trump make sense to intel types.

Popadoplus job with Trump campaign announced publicly. So all the previous appraches from people who clearly knew about his Trump job seem to be as a result of "spying" on Papa's private communications.

Said to be related to Papa's writings on oilfields in Turkey/Israel and NOT related to Trump (but those issues were why Papa was working for Carson/Trump). FBI trying to claim they are interested in Papa... not going after Trump as such.

Clinesmith interviewed Papa.... trying to get him to repeat stuff claimed by Downer and Halper etc

July 27, 2017, Papadopoulos was arrested upon landing at Washington-Dulles International Airport, placed in handcuffs and leg shackles, and put in a prison cell overnight for his arraignment the following day. He was released without bail and subsequently cooperated with Special Counsel Robert Mueller in his investigation.

October 5, 2017
Papadopoulos pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to making false statements to FBI agents relating to contacts he had with agents of the Russian government while working for the Trump campaign.
The guilty plea was part of a plea bargain reflecting his cooperation with the Mueller investigation.

Papadopoulos's arrest and guilty plea became public, when court documents showing the guilty plea were unsealed. Following his guilty plea, Trump described Papadopoulos as a "young, low level volunteer named George, who has already proven to be a liar" and said few people in his campaign had heard about Papadopoulos.
During the campaign, Trump named Papadopoulos as one of his five foreign policy advisers—alongside Keith Kellogg, Carter Page, Walid Phares and Joseph Schmitz—and described Papadopoulos as an "excellent guy".

August 17, 2018
Sentencing memorandum released.
Prosecutors stated that a sentence of zero to six months was "appropriate and warranted," noting that Papadopoulos had repeatedly lied to investigators and did not provide "substantial assistance" to the investigation, and that his lies had interfered with the investigators' ability to question and if necessary detain Joseph Mifsud, who left the United States two weeks after Papadopoulos's first interview with the FBI.

September 7, 2018
Papadopoulos was sentenced to 14 days in prison, 12 months of supervised release, and 200 hours of community service; he was also fined $9,500.

November 26, 2018
He began serving his 14-day sentence on, at FCI Oxford in Oxford, Wisconsin, and was released 12 days later on..

It seems clear in hindsight that Weissmann and Mueller knew the FBI misconduct that was likely to surface, as it has; so they made sure to position blame on FBI Director Chris Wray and FBI Legal Counsel Dana Boente back in March 2019.

Intel probe puts CIA’s Haspel in a bind

The review led by U.S. Attorney John Durham is making life uncomfortable for America’s cautious spy chief.



The prosecutor appointed by Attorney General Bill Barr to examine the origins of the Russia investigation is focusing much of his attention on the CIA, placing the agency’s director, Gina Haspel, at the center of a politically toxic tug-of-war between the Justice Department and the intelligence community.

The prosecutor, John Durham, has reportedly asked the CIA for former director John Brennan’s communications as he examines the January 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment that concluded Russian President Vladimir Putin intervened in the election specifically to help Donald Trump.

Haspel was the CIA’s station chief in London in 2016 when the U.S. Embassy there was made aware of Mifsud’s contact with a Trump campaign adviser, George Papadopoulos, by Australian diplomat Alexander Downer. Haspel was briefed on Downer’s outreach to the embassy, according to a person familiar with the matter, but it’s unclear whether she was then made aware of the FBI’s plans to interview him or knew about the bureau’s use of an informant in London.

There is no sign of Ep. 3 posted anywhere. As a WEEKLY podcast it was due 27th December, yet NOTHING and it's 31st now

I have gone right off Papa... his twitter has little info... he could, for instance, update when he intends to post Ep. 3.
Instead he RETWEETS people responding to his own book promo tweets saying how marvelous his book is.. and they look like fake reviews (mostly). He retweets the SAME thing over and over.. just timed as recent.

EG: THIS book connects all the dots. It’s a must read! I got my signed copy!

I read that he has changed details of his narrative, and I do get the impression he is a bit of a "con-man". NOBODY thinks his role in things was that important. The FBI and Mueller hyped it up as an excuse (in retrospect) for spying. And Papa has hooked on to this made-up inflated role in things to hype himself... sell a few books... seek donations/funding. He claims to be running for Congress. I have no idea if he has a chance of being a nominee, let alone winning.. but meanwhile he is seeking Campaign funding

A lost passport at a Portuguese airport is the latest bizarre clue in the search for the elusive Maltese professor.

LONDON — While the world was looking for Joseph Mifsud, the Maltese professor who allegedly delivered word of Hillary Clinton’s stolen emails to Donald Trump's campaign, his passport and wallet sat for 17 months in a lost-and-found office in a Portuguese airport.

The items were found by police in a picturesque coastal town in Madeira, a Portuguese island off the coast of Morocco that's popular with tourists and best known for being the birthplace of soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. The passport and wallet were found on Aug. 5, 2017, some three months before Mifsud disappeared from public view and six months after he was questioned by FBI officers investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election.

The bizarre discovery, reported here for the first time, is the latest crumb encountered on the trail of the elusive academic.

A police report reviewed by BuzzFeed News shows that Malta’s embassy in Lisbon was notified of the missing passport on Jan. 24 this year. But a senior Maltese official said that authorities back in Malta did not become aware that a passport belonging to Mifsud had been found in Portugal until late October.

It’s not known whether the items were dumped on purpose or simply mislaid.

Portuguese police said the passport and wallet had been sent to Madeira airport after being found in the town of Câmara de Lobos, and the Maltese embassy was only informed once the time period for them to be claimed had expired.

Searching for Mifsud info I was REMINDED that there was testimony that "Somebody was killed" as a result of the "Muh Russia" stuff.

It was speculated that it was a reference to Seth Rich... but with talk of Mifsud being a gonner... it could be him?
