You know what would really be a bonus?

If you'd comment what NZ should do to win. ;)

I am hoping they make adjustments during tea.

I am a South African consultant :cool

FWIW
NZ need get these SA 4 wickets ASAP... with not too big a SA lead... then NZ need to score a lot of runs... set a target .... and bowl SA out.... it is possible I guess?

Test Cricket All-Rounders

Interesting pending milestone....

Ahead of this test, Vernon Philander's Test stats were 961 runs and 161 wickets taken.

The "gold standard" for all-rounders is 1000 runs and 100 test wickets.

At close of play yesterday, Philander had 36 runs, and so career total 997... just 3 short of 1000 runs.

Full list of all rounders with 1000 runs and 100 wickets
http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/conten ... 82786.html

Only 5 South Africans have made the cut....
TL Goddard (SA) (1955-1970) 2516 runs 123 wickets
SM Pollock (SA) (1995-2008) 3781 runs 421 wickets
JH Kallis (ICC/SA) (1995-2013) 13289 runs 292 wickets
N Boje (SA) (2000-2006) 1312 runs 100 wickets
DW Steyn (SA) (2004-2016) 1162 runs 417 wickets

Poor old Philanderer still 2 short of 1000 Test runs. SA did NOT get to the psychological 100 run lead :(

Poor Morkel. His high Test score is 40. I was hoping he would go over it but he only matched it.

So close for both of them.
I was really surprised NZ could not bowl them out in an entire session yesterday. NZ's bottom of the barrel batsmen usually don't stay long. I've seen a few pick up some slack at the end, but nothing like these two.

ETA
Oh lord, here comes Latham. :doh

Why oh why is he a lead batsman?
