FIRE ALARM SOUNDING :eek

Grandstand is being evacuated. The fire alarms are going off. Break in play at the moment. All the players are asked to come out to an open area.

The plot thickens... the entire crowd, players, commentators and all have to evacuate the ground.

If it was some other country I would be guessing bomb threat, or terrorist attack... but we dont do that shit in NZ :cool

I didn't even think of that, Rumpole.

5.12pm Now, the commentators are being asked to evacuate too. Water sprinklers from the hockey stadium next door have swung into action.. Apparently everyone has been asked to leave the ground. That includes the TV crew, players, support staff.

I got 5 minutes of adverts. Now the stream says there is a Weather Delay. ;)

Good gravy!

5.20pm Both teams have herded to the middle. Rest of the venue has been evacuated. While we're at it, here are some of the stranger reasons for stoppages of play, including animal invaders, bomb threats and gravy.

ETA
Play to be extended for extra 30-minutes to make up for the lost time and overs, light permitting

Thanks for the updates, Molly.

So..... scores are same same.. SA have lost one wicket, and NZ have a player with a bad leg.. same same again.

First innings... ferget abart it!! :cool

Either side could win, but the winning side needs to take 10 wickets (SA declaration notwithstanding).. and I would guess that some time will be lost due to rain and/or bad light. So... tomorrow SA need to get on with scoring runs.. and not lose too many wickets... same as always only more so.

So much for an "early start" :roll

10:30 changed to 10:51 am WHY bother just to add 9 minutes? :lol

And... the ground is damp, so play is NOT going to start even at scheduled time of 11:00 am

Rumor of start 11:15 looks like BS.... groundstaff still pissing about with covers :wall

ETA
WHO is the rocket scientist who scheduled a Cricket Test match in Dunedin in March?

I dont think that Dunedin has had 5 days in a row without rain.... EVER!!!

OMG that was funny to read, not knowing play had stopped. LOL

Rumpole, you're much more entertaining (commentator) than those at ESPNcric. ;)

NZ still have a realistic chance of a win... IF they take quick wickets... otherwise this game likely to be a draw :cool
