Today reminded me of my country crush and all-time favorite country singer, Vern Gosdin. His songs are amazing and tell a story (usually sad) ... his writing was unique, so was his voice. I was introduced to him in the early 90s at a dive of a bar that had a jukebox, half the songs were his. We played shuffleboard after work-- the bar was always empty at that time. Late at night, the really, really older couples (regulars) would play his songs ..his music was slow enough they could dance to it. I ended up buying all his music, memorizing so many songs, but they are on cassettes.
