IMO NZ have resurrected their innings... lead by McCullum.

I think they should now go for broke. 300+ is "enough" It might actually be better if they are all out before stumps and bowl a few overs at Australia. So... these last few batsmen should get on with it. Score runs as fast as they can. Going out does not matter much.

As always .. the only way to win a Test match is to bowl the other side out... TWICE.
IF NZ think they can do that.. then they should get on and do it. Take a few quick wickets tonight... then bowl Aust out before end of day tomorrow. Of course they then bat another innings to set a target.. and then show they can bowl Australia all out a second time.

Innings Break

NZ all out.... after 65.4 overs

New Zealand 370/10 (65.4 ov)

They are STILL supposed to bowl MINIMUM of 90 overs in a day :roll

I guess they may subtract 2 (and a bit) for innings break?

So I calculate NZ should bowl 22 overs at Australia today.. that will require "overtime" beyond 5:30PM.. and they may still be short :doh

Will be interesting to see how many they actually get bowled.

And re your post before last ...

I don't know .. I was there with you for a while, but when I saw Watling heading for a 50 I kept wanting more. ;) I enjoyed the last 70 runs. It's nice to see NZ get a decent score for a change.

Both matches today have been fun to watch. :)

Stumps 2nd Test Day 1

New Zealand 370
Australia 57/1 (20.0 ov)
Australia trail by 313 runs with 9 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

They were still 2 overs short, even after overtime. This is all down to Australia who were 10 overs behind at the Tea Break.
They should have just added about 80 TE extras to NZ total... and stopped at 5:30 PM

I've again got that old... "NZ don't look like ever bowling anybody out" feeling :95

I certainly find it hard to believe that the NZ bowling attack will ever get 10 Australian wickets... ONCE... let alone TWICE. :doh
