Taylor OUT!! :91

Now... McCullum can take this game by the horns and get it DONE!!!

Williamson can rest his bad knee while McCullum hits boundaries :cool

This is crazy.

First Taylor surprised me, now McCullum surprises me.

A funny, old game. :)

Here we go, he finally woke up.

:(

Chameera to McCullum, OUT, oh, McCullum attacks and falls! He charges down first ball for the short of length ball by making room, and he edges that high a long long way. Mathews comes under that at cover and takes it with both hands, diving at the last moment.

McCullum OUT (c Mathews b Chameera) 18 (35b 2x4 0x6)

Lets hope Williamson can make a century (currently on 72/111)

NZ need 57.... and still 20 mins to 6:00pm

I HOPE they play the extra, extra half hour and put this game to rest today.

Stumps - Day 3

Sri Lanka 292 & 133
New Zealand 237 & 142/5 (41.5 ov)

New Zealand require another 47 runs with 5 wickets remaining

Umpires not prepared to play the extra extra half hour... I think they should because even with the first half hour of overtime the players FAILED again to bowl required overs. Personally I would make them bat every day until they get through required overs (unless light faded). If they had done that today.. only THEN should they make a decision about the extra half hour to complete game.

By my maths NZ innings should have reached 52 overs... they only got to 42 :wall

Another 10 overs... and THEN it would be so close that they would play the extra half hour :cool

I assume they will start early today, still making up for overs lost due to rain on day 1?

10:00 AM local/ 3:00 PM Texas.

What a farce. They should have at least put this game out of it's misery last night :stamp

'Morning, Rumpole :)

ESPN doesn't say, Dikshit signed off without a mention.
Still has normal 10:30AM start, but I'm gonna tune in early.
May miss it all in the first 30 minutes. ;)

Kick off is NOT including the half hour early start.

Kane Williamson making a century (or not) is a point of interest... otherwise its a bit of a farce :cool

Kane Williamson (rhb) 78 off 120 balls (SR 65.00)

I know you are bilateral, but sometimes you sound all American :)

Kick off? LOL

Can't find anything about the condition of B.J. Watling's shoulder, so I guess he is okay to go. Those young kids can bounce right back.

If I was all American.. I would say "batter up" every time a new "batsman came to crease" :cool

IF Kane Williamson gets to 100 he will equal the NZ record ( by McCullum) for most runs in a Calendar year... any more than a 100 and he will take the record.

FOUR!!!

Williamson gets a 4... now 102 not out.

Also...that is record for NZ TEST runs in calendar year...

1164 was McCullum's record.. Williamson past that and still counting

Also 5 x 100's in a year..... is record too

Well, that was exciting. :D

He looks a bit tired today. That record may have kept him up last night.

YAY!

LOL! :)

One of them has a big fork in his back pocket.

I'm guessing Williamson ;)

NZ win :91

This game (cricket is a funny old game) changed completely just before lunch yesterday.. with 3 quick SL wickets falling.... after that they just lost the plot. :cool

I have to say (repeat) that the CRAP 3rd Umpire decision might well be at the least be the "seed" of that.. which is a big SHAME!!

But for all that nonsense we might still have an exciting test match today.. NZ chasing 400+ either side with a chance to win.

Final Scorecard

Sri Lanka 292 & 133
New Zealand 237 & 189/5 (54.3 ov)

New Zealand won by 5 wickets

Looking forward to the ODIs, the ones I can watch while out of town.

And then the T20s. I haven't begun to learn the rules of that game yet.

I see what you mean about today being a farce. They SHOULD HAVE finished yesterday.

But Williamson's record-breaking batting was worth tuning in.

Your humor, Rumpole, is a bonus. :)

Thanks!

I guess I can enjoy the spectacle... but never been games I look forward to... just watch if I happen to be around :cool
