ST. CHARLES, MO (KTVI) – 63 protesters are facing charges for shutting down Interstate 70 at the Blanchette Bridge. They set up barricades then stood in the middle of the highway bringing traffic to a complete stop during Monday evening’s rush hour. Police say the driver of an SUV was sucker punched as she guided her vehicle through the crowd. One protester is seen on video provided by Bommarito Automotive Sky Fox kicking the SUV causing about five thousand dollars worth of damage as others yelled and screamed at the driver. The protesters are facing misdemeanor charges for disobeying police commands to clear the interstate and for interfering with officers.

2 Ferguson activists charged with attacking driver, car during I-70 shutdown



CLAYTON • Two activists well-known in the protest movement that emerged from Ferguson have been charged with attacking a woman and her car during the shutdown of Interstate 70 in Earth City Monday afternoon.

Alexis Templeton, 21, was charged with third-degree assault, trespassing on the interstate and peace disturbance and was released on a summons. Brittany Ferrell, 26, was charged with felony property damage, trespass and peace disturbance. She was held in lieu of $10,000 bail on the felony charge.
