UPDATE: I have given this a separate thread.
I do see the seeds of the same hysteria we saw with GZ case... the same Traybot Worriers are adopting this case as a vehicle to find somebody to hate.

This not worth a separate thread... yet. There does not seem to be much to the story... but I await any more detail It does seem to be firing up Traybots so it might "have legs"

Renisha McBride death: Man who shot teenager claims his gun discharged by accident
Heather Saul , Tomas Jivanda
Friday 08 November 2013

The man who allegedly shot an unarmed black teenager in the face claims he discharged his gun accidentally, according to Michigan police.

Renisha McBride was shot on 2 November while reportedly seeking help after a car accident at 2.30am.

The 19-year-old died after being shot on a man's porch in the middle class Detroit suburb of Dearborn Heights.

Her family had asserted she was shot in the back of the head as she turned to leave a property after asking for help.

However, Dearborn Heights chief detective Lt. James Serwatowski disputed this claim. He said: “This girl was not shot in the back of the head while leaving the porch. I don’t know where the family is getting this. She was shot in the front of the face, near the mouth", according to the Detroit Free Press.

The gunman, who has not been identified by police, is understood to have claimed he mistook Ms McBride for an intruder.

Mr Serwatowski said on Thursday: “This man’s claiming – believed the girl was breaking into the home. And he’s also saying the gun discharged accidentally.”

My "gut feeling" is a tragic accident. A stranger knocking on your door at 2:30AM is bound to have you nervous...

The claim is....homeowner answered the door with his shotgun in his hand and the shotgun discharged accidentally.

Renisha McBride’s family confident justice will be served
11/11/13 09:45 PM
By Morgan Whitaker

A little over a week after Detroit teen Renisha McBride was shot and killed by a homeowner in Dearborn Heights, Mich., the Wayne County Prosecutor’s office has begun reviewing the case to consider charges against the shooter.

While they wait for the prosecutor to take action, McBride’s family members remain hopeful that the slain 19-year-old will get justice.

“The family wants a conviction and if it takes the prosecutor a week or two to gather all the evidence to ensure a conviction, the family is reassured with that,” McBride family lawyer Gerald Thurswell said on PoliticsNation Monday.

“The prosecutor is a woman of integrity and her reputation is such that she builds these cases to get convictions and she takes her time,” he added, refering to Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy.

Thurswell explained the family remains patient as they wait for charges in the case, especially as they learn that the prosecutor’s office is conducting its own investigation.

“Just to charge this man is not sufficient,” Thurswell said. “They need a conviction in order to have justice. This was a senseless, senseless killing, there was no reason for this girl to die. None whatsoever.”

Here we go again!!

Media story... quoting "family attorney" demanding "an arress"..... sound familiar?

Moreover, with the investigation not complete....

“Just to charge this man is not sufficient,” Thurswell said. “They need a conviction in order to have justice. This was a senseless, senseless killing, there was no reason for this girl to die. None whatsoever.”

And already the old Traybot Worriers gang sense "blood in the water" and are circling ready to go into daft-frenzy! A dead teen... a perp to blame and hate... and it's a black, female teen too..... almost perfect Traybot Worrier fodder. All they need is for the name of the "perp" to be released and to find he is WHITE (or "close enough" will do as in GZ case)

Photos all show an angelic, innocent girl... one even shows her cuddling a puppy... the stage is set!!

Yet... with details not released, I assume the guy involved was a normal rational person.
Hard to imagine that... woken at 2:30AM he decided to go murder whoever was at his door.... or worse... he saw the person and decided based on some sort of prejudice (racism).
I still await more detail... but the evidence so far points to an accident.

(See the "daft" thread for "Traybot Worrier" reaction.)

Autopsy leads to more questions in Dearborn Heights shooting
Oralandar Brand-Williams
The Detroit News
November 11, 2013 at 1:00 am

Detroit— The 19-year-old Detroit woman who was shot and killed Nov. 2 by a Dearborn Heights homeowner was shot in the face, according to an autopsy report issued Monday in a case that continues to have more questions than answers.

The report from the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office does not specify the distance from which the fatal shot was fired, but it provided additional details about Renisha McBride’s death.

“There was an entrance shotgun wound to the face, with no evidence of close range discharge of a firearm noted on the skin surrounding this wound,” reads the report by Assistant Medical Examiner Kilak Kesha, who ruled McBride’s death a homicide.

Detroit teen killed at house where she’d gone for help; Trayvon Martin comparisons abound
The case of Renisha McBride, shot Nov. 2 in the predominantly white town of Dearborn Heights, has drawn comparisons to that of Trayvon Martin.

EARBORN HEIGHTS, MICH.—An autopsy on a 19-year-old black woman killed in front of a suburban Detroit home where she’d reportedly gone to seek help after a car crash confirms that she died of a gunshot wound to her face.

Renisha McBride, of Detroit, was fatally shot Nov. 2 in the predominantly white town of Dearborn Heights. Civil-rights groups have called for a vigorous prosecution in the case, saying the former cheerleader was targeted because of her race.

The case has drawn comparisons to that of Trayvon Martin, a 17-year-old boy shot by a suspicious neighbour in Florida. The 2012 shooting death of Martin, black and unarmed, and the acquittal this year of neighbourhood-watch volunteer George Zimmerman stirred racial tensions. It sparked debate over so-called “stand your ground” laws that protect gun owners who claim to shoot in self-defence in Florida and at least 22 other states, including Michigan.

Annette did a good post about at her Nettles site, which was renamed to No Truth, No Justice.

http://annettekblog.wordpress.com/2013/11/10/renisha-mcbride/

Problem being there really isn't a lot to go with. She also had this link to the Autopsy Report.

http://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/818001/mcbride-autopsy.pdf

There was some discussion about distance so naturally I had to put my two cents in. Range 30" - 36" and that she had her head turned partially to the right. That is a pretty close pattern. But we will see. I had a 12 gauge when I was in my teens so my recollections as to patterns are speculation....

Thanks Deb

Good to get what details we can. Clearly the guy shot and killed the girl... a tragedy, but silly to be attributing any intent... especially racist animus at this stage.

Another poster at Nettles commented that the only thing missing was a burning cross and that the community has become that which they fear. Same KKK attitude but the colors are reversed.

I can't help but agree. What right do these people have to be all over his property? If they were going to hold this they should have stayed on city sidewalks or street.

Renisha McBride Family Demands Conviction After Autopsy Shows Shot in the Face
Nov. 12, 2013
By CHRISTINA NG via Good Morning America

The family of a Michigan woman who was shot to death outside a home after a car accident is demanding a conviction for the shooter, who has been neither arrested nor charged, as the woman's autopsy results show that she died from a gunshot wound to the face.

Renisha McBride, 19, died early on the morning of Nov. 2 in Dearborn Heights, Mich.

"The family is more concerned in getting a conviction after he's charged than just getting him charged," McBride family attorney Gerald Thurswell told ABCNews.com today. "The only way justice will be served is by getting a conviction, not just by filing charges."

Thurswell said he believes the prosecutor is reconsidering the request for a warrant. He said the prosecutor is reviewing the request and asking for toxicology reports on McBride, more ballistic information and McBride's cellphone records.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office spokeswoman, Maria Miller, said today that the office "waiting to receive several items relating to the investigation from the Dearborn Heights Police Department at this time. We have begun the warrant review process. News will be released when a charging decision has been made."

McBride's family has said they believe the woman was going door-to-door looking for help after her car broke down and her cellphone died.

McBride's autopsy report from the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office, released Monday, shows that she was shot in the face and there was "no evidence of close range discharge of a firearm."

The death was ruled a homicide, but the unnamed shooter, to whom police said they have spoken, has not been arrested.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office declined to issue a warrant last week and asked police to investigate further.

Attorney Thurswell said the family has faith that the prosecutor will act in their favor and they appreciate her careful consideration, which he said includes investigators from the prosecutor's office, in addition to police investigators.

The attorney believes the media reports that the shooter is a 54-year-old, white male are correct. Police have not identified the shooter by name because he has not been charged.

Audio: Dispatcher details McBride shooting call

Oralandar Brand-Williams and George Hunter
he Detroit News
November 12, 2013 at 3:14 pm

Dearborn Heights — The Detroit News has obtained audio of a Dearborn Heights police dispatcher sending officers the morning of Nov. 2 to a house on West Outer Drive after the 54-year-old homeowner there dialed 911 to report he’d just shot a person he didn’t know on his porch.

The shooting happened at a home in the 16800 block of Outer Drive near Warren, and the homeowner contacted police around 4:45 a.m. Police say the person shot on the porch was 19-year-old Renisha McBride.

The shooting of McBride, an African-American woman, by the white homeowner, who claimed through his attorney that he fired his shotgun because he feared for his life, has ignited a national firestorm about Michigan’s version of the “Stand Your Ground” law. The man is not in police custody, and prosecutors are investigating whether to bring charges.

While police dispatches are radioed to officers before an investigation has been conducted and sometimes contain erroneous information, the audio obtained through Broadcastify provides a glimpse into the events of that morning.

“Just received a 911 call from a male (who) thinks he just shot someone on his porch,” the female dispatcher said at about 4:46 am. “Then he hung up; we’re trying to call back.”

About a minute later, the dispatcher radioed: “Units responding: We have the male on the line. (He) states he doesn’t know this person. Trying to get further (information).”

A responding officer told the dispatcher: “There’s somebody down on the porch ... it appears it’s going to be a black female.”

Two minutes after the initial dispatch, an officer reported: “Rescue 10 is on scene.”

Also Tuesday, the Detroit Police Department released a detailed timeline of a single-car accident at Brammell and Majestic in which McBride is believed to have been involved a couple of hours prior to being fatally shot.

The crash occurred in a Detroit neighborhood a mile northwest of the Dearborn Heights home where McBride was killed.

According to information released by Detroit police, the accident occurred just before 1 a.m. Nov. 2, and Detroit’s emergency dispatch center received a 911 call around 12:57 a.m. saying a “female hit a parked car (and) the driver of the vehicle fled the location.”

In the initial call, there was no report of injuries.

When police arrived at the scene at 1:40 a.m., the driver, thought to be McBride by her family, was no longer there. EMS also was dispatched and did not find the driver at the scene. By 2:50 a.m., police remained at the scene writing a report on the incident and making preparations to have the car towed.

Renisha McBride Accident Timeline
The Huffington Post By Kate Abbey-Lambertz
Posted: 11/12/2013 4:12 pm EST

[...]
12:57 a.m. Detroit police receive an initial phone call that there was an auto accident with no injuries and the driver fled the scene. Because of those factors, the accident was determined to be a low priority call. According to the Detroit Free Press, a woman was speeding, hit a parked car, and then left on foot.

1:23 a.m. Another person calls 911 about the accident. The individual said the driver of the vehicle seemed to be intoxicated, though the dispatcher realized that an injury may have caused the apparent intoxication. The dispatcher ordered EMS units, but no units were available at that time.

1:37 a.m. A unit became available and was dispatched. It arrived three minutes later, and no one was at the scene.

1:52 a.m. An ambulance arrived.

2:50 a.m. Officers left the scene, after spending over an hour clearing the accident scene and investigating. No one returned to the scene within that time.

4:46 a.m. A Dearborn Heights dispatcher said she had just received a call from a homeowner who said he had shot someone on his porch, according to the Detroit News. Less than five minutes later, units were on the scene at the 16800 block of West Outer Drive, several blocks from the Detroit accident.

We are STILL waiting for the full toxicology report on TM... lets hope we get one in this case. It will be important as far as the accident goes (hitting a parked car)... but also perhaps relevant to the shooting incident.

Michigan State Police now assisting in Renisha McBride case
Posted: 11/12/2013
By: Jim Kiertzner

(WXYZ) - Michigan State Police took pictures and measurements in the car that Renisha McBride crashed the night she was killed.

The crash took place 6 blocks and 3 hours away from the front porch where her life ended.

Her white Ford Taurus has severe front end damage. Calls to Detroit Police started at 12:57 saying a woman was speeding and she hit a parked car.

Did Renisha have a head injury from the crash? Her family's attorney, Jerry Thruswell tells 7 Action News Renisha left her home at 11 p.m. to go to a friend's house, and that Renisha talked with a resident near where she crashed at Majestic and Bremell in Detroit.

That resident has talked with investigators and reportedly said Renisha was bleeding from the head, disoriented and said she wanted to go home and walked away.

Had she been drinking? Toxicology results are not finished but police sources say a preliminary blood test shows 19-year-old Renisha had alcohol in her system.

She walked across Warren Avenue into Dearborn Heights and was shot in the face and killed on a front porch at 4:30 a.m. The 54-year-old white homeowner has not been charged as the case is reviewed.

Legal experts say his actions, his state of mind and whether they are reasonable under the circumstances are important in the decision on whether he is charged with murder, manslaughter, accidental discharge of a weapon or cleared of wrongdoing.

Crump was the same... he just chose to do his demands in installments... baby steps one at a time.... all he wanted was "an arress" to start with... but he sure as hell also wanted a conviction.

The same Traybot logic is being applied by posters in regards this case... if a teen has died then SOMEBODY has to be convicted... imprisoned and hopefully brutalized, raped and then murdered by inmates. That is the way things are in the twisted minds. To hell with evidence and comprehension of the facts.

(At least we will likely have a source of "Daft" for the "Daft Thread") :)

Hey guys! Just wanted to add, her autopsy report lists every article of clothing but says nothing about shoes. So it appears she was just wearing socks. On Nov 2 2013, the temp at that time of the morning was around 35 -37 degrees. The autopsy report also says her clothes were wet. 37 degrees in wet clothes she had to be freezing her rear end off!

Something seems off to me but I can't place my finger on it. She was found on his porch but, if you look at the front of his house, the doors both open on the right side. The inside door swings inside and the outer storm door opens out. If she was standing on his porch when shot, she either would of fallen down the 2 - 3 steps or into the shrubs. Not land on the porch itself. Here's 2 views from Google Maps..

Image

Image

The autopsy report says the shot was not close range so again, if it wasn't close range, how did he shoot her while she was on the porch. Also, the outer door closes on it's own so how did he shoot her and hold the door open at the same time? She could not have been holding the door open with him in doorway and still be outside because then the gunshot wound would be at close range. The only thing I can come up with is, he went to the door to see who was there. When he opened the inside front door, she either already had the outer door open and started walking in when the inside door was opened or, when he opened the outer door, she opened the door wider and started walking inside.
