And since I just used a zillion of our wonderful stash of smilies, that reminds me this is a good opportunity to thank Maltese Mama, oh she of the very cool smilies!

Um, who (outside of JQ) doesn't have much more class than Wrinkly Baker, or Pruny, or whatever she calls herself these days?

"Judge Alex" said he thought O'Mara should have emphasized more that reaching a compromise verdict is an abrogation of the jurors' duty. I haven't watched the closing argument yet, but from what I've read about it here and on TalkLeft, I agree. It's rather disgusting that jurors might agree to a so-called compromise of manslaughter that's nearly as bad for Zimmerman.

Dr Drew is reading a statement from Robert Zim Jr from the family.

I've been meaning to post that GZ has lots of loyal, loving friends and family...it says a lot about his character.

Listening to Hornsby

Pointing out that prosecution (Guy) should not have been allowed to appeal to emotion... MOM should have objected.

If for no other reason then to preserve the objection point for appeal.

But also strategically... to break up Guy's roll on emotional narrative.

IIRC, Bill Scheaffer (or the other guy) said the same thing today.

I tend to agree with you on all points, mostly that juries are unpredictable. But this jury, when given a choice, has almost always opted for pushing on through. Then they asked to leave before 6 p.m.? No one seemed to be expecting them to want to leave that early, so it doesn't seem likely that family visits were scheduled, kwim? So why were they in such a rush today of all days? It could be that they'll come back in the morning, have a last discussion to make sure they're all in agreement still, then acquit.

I expect they are enjoying one more day of peace and quiet in a hotel with a lovely dinner. All meals are provided. It ain't so bad. They don't even have to clean the room or make their bed. Then it's back to real live of working, cooking, cleaning and such. Surely a higher Court would find all that Martin stomping around to be prejudicial to Zimmerman if needed.
Glad to see Traybot hero Bernie be such a flop.

Can you believe that it was this picture that made Traymom and entourage jump up and stomp out of the courtroom? I thought at first that is was an autopsy pic, but later heard not. Guilty conscience, Maybe?

But remember, as MOM put it, he and West are not young public defenders. They know what to do and will use every available method to keep GZ out of jail (where people go first), much less prison.

It's a little late for that.

No, if GZ isn't acquitted, the defense goes to a panel of judges who aren't crushing on the prosecution and who will read an entire case instead of just the head notes. :)

I say that meaning they have shown us they did not use "use every available method to keep GZ out of jail" from early on in the case. I'm not some overly anti-MOM person, but I'm not blind either. MOM had the authority to subpeona from day 1.

Bernie excluding PJ B35 (B/M)

Does doing that that mean we are less likely to see a hung jury ...something that would not work well if this was a Shot Trial?

I recall him hitting on it at least a couple times, once phrasing it in a very similar manner.

I'm glad to hear that. I may wait till the verdict, and if it's an acquittal, watch O'Mara's closing with glee. If it's a conviction, I probably won't be able to bare to see it.
