I will give the black community credit, they could get thousands of people to march for justice on a false narrative. What is wrong with the white community? I'm ready to protest but where is the advocate for Justice for George? Where are the thousands demanding a stop to this travesty?

Trying to catch up with comments here and it took me a few seconds to understand the meaning in context. :Gslap :Gslap

'Nelson is being :Q34 we should abuse her' crossed my mind before I remembered. :Gslap

So this case became a focus to me when I was studying journalism, and is one of the reasons that I changed majors. I cannot say that the fact this trial is even occurring has left me with any faith in the US Justice system. Even if there is an acquittal and severe civil suits against the media and the TM family/PR/attorneys the damage has been done.
When I graduate this December I believe that I will shift my job search focus north a few miles and check out Canada.

Um, doesn't murder (the unlawful killing) while committing a separate felony require a separate felony act? Otherwise, that's sort of tautological, isn't it?

You're correct, as usual, felony murder requires felony separate from the act alleged to be murder. For example, a security guard is shot while a bank is being robbed. The robbery is the underlying felony, bumping the death to felony murder for all involved in committing the robbery.

I suspect that the jury has pretty much made up their minds and all the jury instruction shenanigans is not going to mean squat in their decision. I believe they will deliberate between 2 to 4 hours and return a verdict of acquittal on all charges.

Could the state get Nelson to change the wording in the instructions from "Child" to "Chile"?

Thank you, SheStone! :86 That's important. Generally speaking, the lawyers can't delve into the law in front of the jury, is my understanding.

About time someone educated Nelson on that. :)

Hi, auscitizenmom! Nice to cyber-see you again!

Actually, no, knowledge isn't required per precedent. Hornsby looked it up.

FOX reporting about 50 protesters outside courthouse. Reporter was reading a flyer handed out by the church group. Stating George was judge and jury of Trayvon Martin. Also telling protesters not to protest in Sanford, but take the protests to the attractions (Disney, Universal etc.). Doesn't sound good...

Can anyone cite a source showing "separate"? TIA

Just FYI: West, suffering from lack of sleep, is now denied lunch as he must be ready to argue Murder 3 @ 1PM ...unless Nelson gives him a 5-10 minute continuation for a candy bar!

We have not even started on the Parking offences yet!!!

That truck that Zimmerman ABANDONED (when he was told not to) was parked on the wrong side of the road, IN A NO PARKING AREA.

If it must happen, leave it all in Sanford ...they started this mess, as Bonaparte said, for the sake of the family!

You're right, of course, in the point you've made. I remember with the OJ case, it was pointed out that no one was preparing for riots by obscure waiters or by blonde women, and that would have been justified.

It's just the normal progression of things, I suppose. The black community had to march and stage large protests just to get their civil rights acknowledged. Then the BGI formed and has manipulated the community to line their own pockets based on any number of pretenses. <smacking own hand to stop here on this topic because I don't want to wake up in the Arias thread>

The reason other groups haven't formed is because traditionally they haven't needed to stage large protests. The TeaParty, whether you approve of them or not, is the only exception to that in recent memory.

With social media being what it is these days, if GZ is convicted, I will be surprised if there are not rallies and protests organized quickly. It really only takes one person to start organizing. The BGI has already organized theirs, win or lose.
