I am so disappointed the defense is resting. I think they've been bullied into it. The judge won't allow them to put on a defense. But if this jury doesn't know by now that GZ is innocent, I suppose it makes sense to head for the 5th DCA, right?

The defense says they will not call any other witnesses. Judge Nelson says after the recess she will ask him if he wants to testify.

I have a feeling that the defense is holding back just in case of a hung jury. I think they feel that the state didn't put on a case, they know they have a 10 lane highway for appeal if things go bad. If George is found guilty, 5th DCA throws it out and they need the rest of the evidence they have been holding back for the retrial, hung jury, same as the former, Not Guilty, then they want to be able to use the evidence in the civil cases. While I would love to see it, why show the rest of the cards when you win with just the 5 of clubs?

Nelson is not allowing much for the defense. It's wrong, I agree. But just like the state adjusted their strategy to start going for manslaughter, maybe the defense has adjusted now for the appeal. They really have proven their case, imo, though the defense has no burden. And they had demolished what the state called its case. The jury should have more than a reasonable doubt about guilt -- they should be convinced GZ is innocent by now.
