It's that private setting that worries me. Jury is all alone, away from the courthouse. All the easier to slip some DOJ-CRS crony in with them, to explain how things will go in deliberation.

It's possible and wouldn't surprise me at all. OTOH, I expect there are bailiffs there as well, and as you know, the more people involved, the less likely it will remain a secret. It would eventually get out. I don't think even Nelson would approve anyone joining them. Even their family visits are supervised.

Of course, you're right, where there is a will, there is a way. And there's also always the chance if such a thing were to happen it would backfire and a juror would complain/report.

I am not trying to start a discussion about race relations, or anything along that line. We all know if I did that, Rumpole would hit me with a trout so hard that I'd wake up in the Arias thread.

However, I was watching someone talking about the case on Fox, and I just want to comment that it makes me sad that it seems so many people look at this case through a racial or even racist lens. It makes me sad that the color(s) of the participants matters to some.

In the beginning, racial prejudice was brought into this case by certain leaders. I never believed race had anything to do with the incident at all. Now, it seems, the leaders who originally stirred things up by accusing some of racism, are now saying what we've all known all along, namely, that racism has nothing to do with this case at all.

Considering the FACT that we can't rule out anything in this case, YES! The good news is that they'd need to hold hostages for all jurors to get them to cooperate, unless they only need/want one for a hung jury, which would be accomplished one-on-one I'd think.

Yeah, what kbp said/wrote. Way better than my comments!

I haven't read his e-book, but from what I've heard about it, I'd be surprised if he's called last but would not be surprised if he's not called at all.

Also a prosecutor on HLN or CNN said the prosecution had a great morning. Made the grounds for manslaughter by suggesting Trayvon was retreating.

If TM was retreating, why was George screaming until the shot was fired???

FOX35 just had discussion with panel and Daryl Parks. Diana Tennis basically told him as lawyers aren't we doing the public a disservice by not telling them this case could very well end in an acquittal. I hope they post video of the debate. Daryl says without a doubt George will be convicted. Parks continued to distort the testimony, state said Trayvon was retreating and that's what they believe. Diana said state did not disprove self defense beyond a reasonable doubt. The black attorney on panel sided with Parks, George was unreasonable from the beginning by thinking Trayvon was suspicious, got out of car, disregarded NEN operator suggestion.

Excellent point, as well as why didn't he retreat to Jon Good's safety?

Thanks for summary. Will check it out if Rumpole or someone else finds video later.

They really should not have him or anyone else who will distort and inflame on their show. It's just wrong and at least Tennis knows it, and should also know that those so inclined will listen to him, Parks, not her.

How are these questions not covered by attorney-client privilege? How can Nelson inquire of Zimmerman about these matters at this time?

Her treatment of West is beyond the pale, is inappropriate, and she gives no reason for over-ruling West?

Yes, very true. I just don't see how anyone can honestly listen to the tape and hear anyone but GZ screaming. It just doesn't make sense under the circumstances for it to be TM™. No way, no how, if one actually looks at the evidence. The state seems intent on arguing contrary positions, which is why they don't have an animation, I'd guess. The gun was out, that's why TM™ was screaming, but it wasn't out because GZ couldn't reach it with TM™ straddling him, blah blah blah blah, over and over again in their questioning of witnesses.

...nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself

Would that cover any of this?
