Today's recess inanity: Bill Schaeffer has now pointed out in *two* different recesses that the prosecution will attempt to discredit DeMiao on the basis that he was paid for his testimony.

All expert witnesses are paid for their testimony, because they are experts, acting in their professional capacity, for which they have expertise. If an expert witness testified for free, or for a reduced fee, it would be that the testimony derived from some bias toward the party for which the expert is testifying.

His testimony DOESN'T really MATTER 2 me. He can't address #GZ's following/pursing #TM, confronting or even how struggle evolved/devolved.

Well, his testimony has shown the multiple injuries the defendant was suffering before that defendant ended it with a single injury to the perp who would not stop inflicting injuries on that defendant.

I think most people are smart enough to understand that medical advances to improve human life and research is done on live animals. Why would it be a disaster. Rescuing animals is not at all the same as increasing medical technology to help humans. Of course, heart and kidney repair plus other techniques are done on animals first. The good Doctor is brilliant. Going to the heart of the matter in living color on screen. Oh my, the Tray heads must be exploding. Where is that mannequin???

Edit to fix broken quote. I think it was mbtb, but if I am wrong, please let me know. TIA

I don't approve of animal experiments, and never have. I am also an "animal rescuer." I am a volunteer for a nationwide dog rescue group and am currently fostering 3 dogs.

But if I were on this jury, I would realize I'm not there to judge the witnesses for any of their deeds. This trial is to judge George Zimmerman for what he did. And so far, my decision is that he acted fully in self defense. I believe he shot someone in order to save his own life.

Were I George, I would just be grateful folks were willing to help me in my hour of need and Thank G-d. George knows he is soft as the Pillsbury Dough Boy. Observations are not accusations.

I'm sure he's very grateful and he's said so. My point is that this was a guy working hard, going to school, supporting his wife through her education, independent, that has wrongfully been put in the position of his wife not graduating, him not being able to continue education, and neither being able to work.

I meant actual accusations like the state accusing him of murder and all of the false claims they make to support it, along with other false accusations in court and out.

A little over a year ago GZ probably felt like he was going places and was working his tail off to get there. Now he's having it broadcast on national tv that his friend bought his clothes and other things that while yes, show how much others care about him and how much devotion he has earned from those close to him, but also on another level have to be embarrassing to him.

Rumpole, photobucket is still holding your pic's in limbo, which makes it difficult to find out which is which. Just FYI, no response anticipated here.

When I started shooting, I forced myself to shoot two-handed, strong-hand-only, and weak-hand-only. I am competent - in that I can properly handle the gun, and hit the target at 7 yards - with my right hand, but no more than merely competent. It's also the only thing I've really forced myself to do with my right hand.

I forgot about mouse - I am much, much more comfortable using my left hand with a mouse.

Well, you being virtually totally left-handed blows my theory of adaptation. I guess many of us are really more ambidextrous than adapted left-handers.

STRONG words have been exchanged with photobucket. I Recommend people STOP doing business with them

Pics were supposed to show again on 10th... now they say 12th

Aren't the witnesses that were on the stand in official capacity on the clock at the time? So every police officer, the ME, the EMTs, etc? That means they are getting paid.

You're correct but they're getting (generally) straight time, and would be collecting pay whether in court or not. Expert witnesses, as we all know, can be paid a lot. I think I read somewhere that DiMaio got $26k for the Specter case. And we all know that one can buy hire an expert to say just about anything, if one has enough money to pay for it.

It's a legitimate challenge, generally accepted in the legal community. The jury can choose whatever weight they want to give it. As for me, after the Specter and Anthony trials, I am very skeptical of any expert witness. If what they say doesn't make sense, I discard their opinion as worthless. Some, like imo Spitz, are just greedy and will say anything for the right price. Others, also including Spitz imo, feel like they're so much smarter than everyone else, they can get away with spinning (lying). And don't get me started on Baden... I change channels if he comes on the tv. I have no interest in anything he has to say about anything, whether he's getting paid big money, or doing a favor for his wife, or is just in his role as pundit on various cases.

You mean the tweet where she said she doesn't care about any of the evidence, the only thing that matters is the narrative and her paycheck? Paraphrased, of course. ;)
