Thank you both for your suggestions. I realize it is probably in vain, but I just have the need to, as liesel says, to call her out on it. I'm so sick of this nonsense, from written commentators to the biased TV and Internet media.

God Bless you and all of those with the inclination and ability to challenge the false narratives. I mean this very sincerely.

To expand on my earlier suggestion - keeping it short is the most important thing to increase the odds of her reading it. Focus on one point, just one, even though all are connected, and several are closely connected. If you can persuade, on that one point, it may leave the door open to others. Persuasion is a very effective tool in the right hands, and in things like this, often much more effective than argument.

Is there a comment section under the article? Maybe some from here would be willing to back up your point there.

Unfortunately, I didn't find a comment section. I did respond to her with several links with accurate information, including the entire NEN call, MOM's website explanation of why this is standard self defense, the first bond hearing with Gilbreath's testimony and Hornsby's blog on the first aggressor. I ended with:

I appreciate your taking the time to respond and would hope you will read all the information I have provided. Only a fool would ignore easily available facts regarding this case, that's why I choose to investigate before I draw conclusions.

I doubt I'll hear from her again.

What happened about the Frye hearing continuing with Owen to do rebuttal this afternoon at 4 PM? Not happening obviously. Tomorrow or ....never? Any ruling by Judge on the Frye hearing?

And a big thanks to all for the jury selection data shared. It ended just as I was catching up.

BDLR seemed very, very, happy to let P67 go for hardship. O'Mara is trying to keep P67 so that BDLR has to use up a strike to get rid of him. Apparently BDLR agreed with defense jury consultant that this guy may be good for defense.

Good points liesel

I think as a matter of principle anybody deficient in ENGLISH should be excluded from assessing testimony.. especially in a MURDER case.
IMO that "rule" should apply to all candidate.. not just recent immigrants. ALL the DeeDee's would be excluded as an example (and probably Crump)

However... as you say... in the wider "Mental Chess" game now..... the tactic could be to use up a Bernie strike :)

How dumb is the juror to make an issue of an obscure blogger comment in front of a World Wide audience?

He has assured that he will now be known as "The Moaning Mexican"

It is if you define "profiling" as making any decisions about a person...

... but it's NOT in the negative sense of assuming group characteristics and applying them to an individual (and I am not against that anyway)

It is reasonable to asses the abilities that a person has to perform a task. Being able to comprehend English well is needed to evaluate testimony spoken in English.

As an illustration... if they were selecting people to act as "ASS KICKERS" for Seminole County... they should exclude people with less that two legs. :cool

I'm back after a grueling infusion, I suppose I missed lots this afternoon. Had my go around with a few Traybots on JG. Still would love a screen shot of the Security Guard approaching the white haired gentleman, also a screen shot of Sybinia chewng gum yesterday. Seems the Traybots think its only the Zimmermans who dare chew gum in court...its getting pathetic at the straw grasping.

Robert Zummerman, Sr. has gray hair, not white. That should help. And, I have seen both Traymom and Traydad chewing gum. They have no room to remark.

Still not a single tweet from Bigboi since a single tweet on 13th June.

There could be MANY reasons for that… but Bigboi coming to her senses is well down the list.

Absolutely laughing at "The Moaning Mexican" and with you. :slap

It really should be that the guy feels some stigma being from Mexico which has more than its fair share of its citizens illegally crossing the US border. Unfortunately, I think it's much more likely The Moaning Mexican thought that would garner him some PC points as a victim and help to get him excused. He's a citizen now, you know, and may be already assimilated into the "victim" culture promoted by the PC purveyors.

There is absolutely no question that anyone not proficient in the language should not be weighing evidence. Some of that evidence will be written and the guy had to have his wife write his note from home excusing him from jury service. However, because they're a bunch of PC people generally and highly aware of the cameras, apparently no one wanted to voice such a xenophobic concern during the first round. Of course, that was when the poster boy of their cultural awareness wanted to be on the jury. Heh heh heh. Now it would be difficult to remove him for that reason, I would think.

BDLR clearly wants TMM gone. That's a pretty good reason right there to fight to keep him until BDLR burns a strike on him. BDLR may be picturing O'Mara's closing directed solely at The Moaning Mexican, including phrases in Spanish, etc. That one guy can hang the jury. There is no way that BDLR is going to let the guy stay. He will use a strike on him. TMM is a nightmare for the prosecution. They need all six to vote to convict and can't tailor to just one.

That's a keeper!

Lets hope O'Mara is not running a one legged defense.

A couple of other observations from today's jury selection:

Did anyone else find it laugh-out-loud funny when some of the MENSA candidates circled the names of people they'd never met but had heard of and/or were celebrities?

And those questions and comments by BDLR... why not just pass out printed copies of the narrative, huh? 'Too smart to chase the burglar the juror surprised' 'taking the law into your own hands' etc. etc. blah blah etc.

Seriously - am I being hyper partisan in favor of the defense or did it seem like BDLR crossed the line repeatedly?

I don't think so. I had the same feeling, over and over. :TF

Maybe she got called for jury duty? :89

Seriously, though -- if she didn't read these posts herself, there can be very little doubt the message was conveyed. Can you imagine living with that Guilt with a capital G? (That's assuming she has enough self-awareness and conscience to feel guilt, despite the lack of evidence to even indicate, much less prove she does.) Imagine you're a super-programmed, this-is-the-entire-meaning-of-your-whole-life kind of traybot; you spend hours and hours on this daily in a "look at me, I'm not a racist" way; maybe even have a shrine set up in your home; and then to learn you actually do bear at least some responsibility for the death of the person you see as perfect and angelic?

Who knows what the weight of that much shame and guilt could cause someone to do. Dropping off the face of the internet would be a good choice.

OTOH - maybe that prison pen pal thing worked out for her. ;)
